Jesus spoke of the "Gift of God," "Mysteries of the Kingdom," and "Worship in Spirit."

Don't you think that Jesus taught his own disciples the spiritual practice of how to Worship in Spirit??? Source: http://gospelenigma.com

What Jesus may have taught his disciples or not , has been lost or hidden away Maybe. The problem is their are no specifics about these things.
So It must come down to faith.

We know He did and taught more than written by the Gospel of John. When he said that the world couldn't hold the books if all details of His life were written. The Spirit was not given until after He ascended back to the Father. There is no evidence that I know that they "Worshiped in Spirit" during His ministry on this earth. He gave them power to heal and cast out demons.

Yes. It's easy to be a disciple when you see all the miracles first hand. Where the real work lies is in believing all that stuff 2000 plus years after the fact with only sketchy and conflicting heresay evidence.

Any Paul, Luke and John can have faith - it's the Joe and Suzy six pack that need to make the leap of faith.

Yes....He did speak of a "Gift From God"...He also talked about sending us the Comforter (Parakletos ((sp?) in Greek)

The Holy Spirit..to be indwelled by the Living God....

one of those "mysteries"....such as ...how does the Living God live in my heart?

quite a bit to understand...but that's why this road we walk is a long one... Being one of His disciples is never going to be easy...no simple 4 Pillars and 7 Truths to memorize. No list of Rituals we need to perform according to a schedule.

On the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was ushered into all believers, that's the day that they began to worship in spirit.

The same goes for us today as believers.....we have that same priviledge.

The Holy Spirit is the One who teaches us.............so I think the answer to your question is no. Jesus probably did not teach them this.....because He made the promise sending the Comforter to them (and to us as well)
