i am baptised and confirmed lutheran of my own choice at the age of 14. i now attend a nondenominational church that doesnt baptise infants. i grew up in a household that didnt practice religion, but i intend on raising him christian. help me decide which to choose, having him baptised in a traditional lutheran church, or dedicated in my non demonimational contemporary church.

As an Atheist, I am CONTENT with the fact that I will die one day and there will be nothing more. I don't see this as a negative. The thought is peaceful to me actually. I won't be scrambling around asking some man in the clouds for forgiveness for not believing in him all these years. I will be contemplating my life and what I have done to make the world a better place.
Just because *you* may need something to look forward to when you die doesn't mean I do.

I'm just wondering, because I have notice so many people are claiming to see that name in the old testament. I can't find it there.
I have also noticed that people claim t see the name Jesus in the bible where it isn't.
Just wonder why so many people are seeing what they do not see.

to constantly bring up things that they feel is lacking within other racial and ethnic groups? Identifying and acknowledgement are the first steps in finding solutions to any problem regardless of what that problem may be. So, if a "racist" believes that behavior demonstrated by another race is self destructive, wouldn't it be more beneficial if they did not mention those flaws and behaviors. They would not want any change implemented that would keep their race from becoming "supreme." "Bringing things to light". Doesn't that benefit the race that was targeted more than anyone else?

why did god create bodies? everything that is wrong with us can be traced back to the fact that we are physical beings. we take up space which means we need space, ergo the origin of greed. this greed is also responsible for anger as well as envy. we are given instincts to procreate, therefore we have lust. i could go on but i think you get the point. wouldn't it have made a lot more sense for god to just make us into spirits?

When I was in college, I rode my bike a pretty fair amount. I would ride 20-30 miles 4 or 5 times a week and I also used my bike most of the time for getting around town.

I got into a phase where I had a lot of crashes. Usually minor stuff but I made one trip to the ER and had another one that was fairly nasty.

Looking back, I have to admit that I enjoyed the process of my body healing itself and I didn't really mind the pain of the crashes so much. I don't think I sought out crashes, but I definitely had no fear of them (even after my trip to the ER).

I had never really reflected on this until somebody recently 'accused ' me of being a masochist (in another question). For some reason this triggered in me a refletion on this period where I crashed a lot. And I am wondering if I went through a masochistic phase.

I moved to lovely town and I want to find a church to go to. I see First Christian Church, Baptist Church, First Friends Church, Calvery Chapel, and something called a Spiritual Science Church... ??? I just want to find the right place to pray and give thanks for my life. I do love Jesus.


also I want to find a place where I wont be judged. I have one son. His father and I love eachother but we are not married yet (mainly due to lack of funds) but we do live together and we are committed to raising our son together.

A friend of mine came across this phrase in his reading, and, since I'm the local Latin expert, asked me for a translation. However, I can't find "lorem" in my trusty Cassell's dictionary. Is it medieval Latin, perhaps? Also, the phrase appears to have two main verbs ("sit" and "amet"), causing me further confusion. Could someone please provide me with a translation and explanation for this? Thanks.

I have seen many examples of loathing and hatred of the Catholic Church in Y!A. I am not talking about simple disagreement with Church doctrine or practices, but comments like "the Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon", "the Catholic Church is leading millions to Hell", etc.

Can these people really have Christ in their hearts when there is such loathing and hate already there?

She does things at work like clipping her toenails or playing her music too loud. She also gives TMI about her health issues and tells everyone when she comes to work without bathing. I want to anonymously give her a clue that her behavior is totally inappropriate.

I feel it's just another day and it suffices to just have the knowledge that I am a year older. But I dont see a reason to celebrate, receive gifts etc. I feel the same for others' birthdays. I surely wish them, and have been giving gifts and celebrating for everyone, but to be honest, I don't really see the point. I feel it is more out of tradition than anything else and it wears me out.

Jesus is Son of God, because Jesus had only mother, he didn't have a father.

Adam.....?????? He was the first man in town ........He must be also Son of God ...Right??????
But......He didn't have mother either ...........
So he must be come straight from God.

You people don't see that God has given you everything to put you straight on the path to a perfect life yet you don't want to take it what more do you want - Why don't you try being Christian , a true Christian , just the same way you try out that new song on the market , or game on the shelves or clothing in the shops you people are allowing yourselfs to be blinded - hows about you TRY
