I feel it's just another day and it suffices to just have the knowledge that I am a year older. But I dont see a reason to celebrate, receive gifts etc. I feel the same for others' birthdays. I surely wish them, and have been giving gifts and celebrating for everyone, but to be honest, I don't really see the point. I feel it is more out of tradition than anything else and it wears me out.

I feel the same way. It's just another day. I think birthdays are for children. When you become older (I'm 40) birthdays just aren't that important. Good luck. 2D

I'm with you on not celebrating Birthdays. A lot of relatives believe they just have to do it. I never had a Birthday party in my whole life and I am now 76. When I was younger, we were to poor! I never got a Birthday gift then neither and never missed not getting one, cause I understood why! Kids nowadays have to much and don't appreciate things, the more they get, the more they want and the same with many adults! I thank God everyday that He gave me the best gifts of all, Life, family & friends!

Well, honey, I feel the same exact way, but I am almost 50 years old. But I do have to say, I have felt this way for many years. Birthdays are way over rated. And they are just another day.

I feel the same way too; every year its the same thing.
But sometimes its nice to have that reason to meet and celebrate with friends because some friends I don't see often and its good to hang out and hear from them.

Wait until you're a mom! If you're not one already. My daughter's birthday is today! (August 22) She is 7 and so excited! I used to feel like you until she came around! It's refreshing to see life through the eyes of a child!

Birthdays are lame and serve for lame peoples self promotion. I hate it when people remind you that their birthday is coming up, like I'm going to get them something.

I'm with you and I guess it's kind of normal. It is just another day, definitely not something to have huge parties over or anything.
