What is the official jewish record, on 'why' Jesus was not the long awaited messiah?

There is n o official record why he is not since he is not discussed in Judaism since he is irrelevant to us, just like the other false messiahs that we have had over times.

Here is why we don't believe that Jesus was the messiah in simple terms:
1) The dead were not resurrected
2) The Jews did not beome priests to the other nations
3) There is no world peace
4) The temple is not standing
5) There is no temple service
6) There is no parah adumah or its ashes to render us tahor
7) The messiah is from the House of David. your house/tribe is inherited from your father. Your father is your BIOLOGICAL father- there is no adoption in Judaisim to another father- if God is the father of Jesus- then Jesus cannot be from the House of David as God is not frm the House of David.
8) Human sacrifice is completely forbidden in Judaism- remeber God stopping the sacrifice of Isaac? The idea of a human being sacrificed is the opposite of anything from Judaism!
9) You have to atone for yourself! An essential part of the atonement process is being repentant. Someone cannot be repentant for you- you have to do it for yourself. ONly communal sins can be forgiven communally- not individual, private sins!

And no- the messiah does NOT proclaim himself- he will be recognised by his deeds- not by his claims- in other words, through doing the above he will be recognised as the messiah. On top of that- mashiach is a HUMAN being, with HUMAN parents- the idea of an anthropomorphised God going around and impregnating young woman is completely alien to Judaism- though it fits very nicely into the pagan religions of the time which had their heroes being fathered by gods (ala Hercules and his daddy Zeus)

NOTE ON MESSIANIC JUDAISM/JEWS FOR JESUS
Both of these are deemed as nothing more than Christian sects using deceitful means to convert Jews. EVERY Jewish denomination denounces these sects as Christians and nothing more. However, by Jewish law, once a Jew, always Jew- whether born or converted. Thus once a person is Jewish they are always judged by Jewish standards, and if they revert/convert to a different religion they are still considered Jewish by Jewish law. BUT, someone practising a religion other than Judaism is considered outside of the community, may not be a member of the community, receive any community honours, be a representative for the community, be buried in a Jewish cemetary, marry a Jew or be treated as a Jew for the purposes of the laws of mourning. However, since they never stop being a Jew- they merely have to repent, return to Judaism and go to mikveh in order to once again be a full member of the community.

1) Yeshua (Jesus) IS the long-awaited Messiah;
2) Contrary to what some here have stated, Yeshua DID plainly state He is the Messiah (for example, at John 4:26). Yeshua's miracles also plainly state He is the Messiah: He is the ONLY one in Scripture Who healed Jewish lepers, the deaf and the blind -- even Elijah couldn't do these things!
3) Many Jews DO believe Yeshua is the Messiah. Despite what others try to assert, Jews for Jesus is not a GENTILE Christian organization -- it was founded by Jews and is run by Jews. Today, there are approximately 150,000 Messianic Jews in the world.
4) If you look in the Scriptures, you'll see that God describes the Jewish people as "stiff necked" (stubborn). I think that describes ALL people well, but God pulls no punches here by stating the Jews have historically refused to follow His commandments:

a) When Moses received the first set of commandments, God told him that the Jews were in the camp dancing around an idol. Moses confronted them and BROKE the tablets on which the commandments were written. This is symbolic, since God and Moses considered the first covenant to have been broken by the Jews even before it started!

b) Jeremiah 3 and the entire book of Hosea details the fact that the Jews broke the second covenant, called the Mosaic Covenant. For this, God "divorced" them. Jeremiah 31:31-34 states that a New Covenant was needed, since God states at Ezekiel 20:33 “As I live, surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you." Whether they like it or not, God will rule over them.

c) When Yeshua brought the New Covenant, most Jews reacted with the same rebellion their forefathers demonstrated. Yet, several thousand Jews DID believe and entered into the New Covenant. These Messianic Jews still exist today. The rest are blinded due to their rebellion.

Frankly, there is NO valid reason I have EVER seen that disqualifies Yeshua from being the Messiah. (Anyone reading this is free to challenge me.)

Jesus Christ is not the messiah because he did nothing. War did not cease from Earth; Gan Eden [the Garden of Edan] was not re-created in Eretz Israel; he did not become the King of Israel; the Temple was not 're-built'; a Torah True government was not established in Israel; all the Jews did not return to Israel. Again, he did nothing that is supposed to show the Jews and the world that he was the Messiah. Being the Messiah is a big thing and will bring about the re-ordering of the Universe. Christians know this, they know that Jesus Christ was hardly an important event in human history, that's why they need a 2nd Coming, to make up for all the important stuff that Jesus Christ failed in the 1st.

And the stuff he is supposed to have done does not count when it comes to the Messiah. All of the 'so-called-miracles' he is supposed to have performed make him even more disqualified because the Torah specifically warns the Jews NOT to rely on miracles as proof that a person is the Messiah.

So, that which he was supposed to do, he didn't and that which he was not supposed to do, he did. In every regard, he was a failure. Except that, by the time Paul was done with him, Jesus Christ looked like the ultimate Greek/Syrian fertility/resurrection god, a very hot item in amoung the gentiles in the Roman Empire, at the time.

But wasn't the Messiah supposed to appear in 29 C.E., the year Jesus was baptized and was anointed as the Messiah? Since 29 C.E. has came and gone, why would anyone still be waiting on the Messiah appearing?

Also, Jesus did resurrect Lazarus. This was something that the Pharisees (Jewish religious leaders) acknowledged, in fact, as a result, they wanted to kill both Jesus and Lazarus because he was an evidence of Jesus' power.

Because Jesus does not fit the description of the Messiah. The official Jewish record would be the Tanakh(Old Testament) which explains who the Messiah is and what he will do.

What makes you 100% sure he's not?
Why does everybody assume their views are the valid ones?.When Jesus was starting to get noticed in the beginning the Jews saw that he could start to cause an uprising against the occupying forces of that area of the Middle East, the Romans.A Jewish friend once told me Religion and Politics cannot be discussed as everyone will stick to their own beliefs.
One thing's for sure, time will tell.

Just to correct a few answers. Mary was a distant cousin of Joseph and was herself of the lineage of David. As for the rest of the argument, we will get the answer one day. In the meantime, I'm sticking with Jesus, son of God, son of Mary, Messiah.

It was Peter who said Jesus was the Messiah, not Jesus

He didn't fulfill the prophecies three that spring to mind are resurrection of the dead (not just him), an end to all war and rebuilding the temple with all the miracles that occurred in the first one - at the time of Jesus the second temple stood.

Also if he was not the son of Joseph he wasn't in the line of Kind David, Joseph was descended from King David, not Mary.
