You're watching TV and your flatmate decides to make a phone call, but don't move from the lounge meaning that they are talking over the telly and you can't concentrate on the TV show?? Even though is a mobile phone and they could be polite and leave the room so as to not disturb anyone?

If you want to go to war over this, you could try turning up the volume on the TV until she's FORCED to take the call in another room...

Well, usually in my house (and most of my friends houses) when someone is watching telly and someone is on a mobile/cordless the person on the phone leaves the room....

...Otherwise it's just rude :)

TELL THEM, you can't move the TV, but they could move themselves. Wow, what a rude roommate! If the problem doesn't get corrected soon, I'd find another.

People I know have the courtesy to take the phone to another room. If they don't move, tell them to take it out of the room.

Very much so! My husband does this all the time! I do not think he knows it, but he talks louder when on the phone, and yes he always stay in room where T.V. is. Can be very annoying I agree!

Hi! Yeah, thats soo annoying. My dad used to do that all the time, it's really disrespectful. But all you can do is ask them to move into another room, and hope they do it (and don't pretend they are ignoring you!) =/ xx

Yeah it would and does.

I'd just turn up the tv until they said something about it or left.

It's never happened to me but if it did i would be plenty annoyed and turn up the volume to the max so now THEY can't hear. Ahh sweet revenge heh heh!

Of course it's rude. If your roommate is rude enough to do this he/she must have other annoying habits. You might want to have a chat.
