I am a Christain and my b/f and I live together. Knowing this isnt right, but knowing in my heart we would be married tomorrow if we had the money to have the wedding we want that could include our families (more my desire than his) makes me feel better about being here. I dont think God holds it against people because they cant afford things. So my b/f suggested finding a preacher and having him marry us in a church without a license. His point is to be married in the eyes of GOD, but not the state. Has anyone ever done this and as a Christian would that make living together right? We would feel married and we would have done it in Gods home.

Many here don't, but for those who are native English speakers and are learning another language:
Do you often find yourself capitalizing as in English?
For example, days of the week, language names, the pronoun for first person singular...
Is it odd for you to use lower case letters in those cases?
Is it easy for you to remember it?

Galileo and Copernicus disproved geocentrism, scientists figured out that the Earth is more than 4000 years old, and 18th and 19th-century scientists figured out that plagues are a result of bad hygiene, not sin. Humans eventually accepted these ideas. I mean, come on. Even the VATICAN only recently recognized that its treatment of Galileo was unjust and illogical.

A question was asked about how Muslims should feel about their lands being invaded by Christian armies. I can't let that one pass. Don't forget who invaded who: The Roman Empire was Christian after the 4th century, and the people in its former lands were Christian. It was the Muslims who swept through those lands after the 7th century. Muslims swept up from the east through modern day Turkey, and up through the west, through Spain. They would have crushed Christiandom entirely were it not for the pope and the knights he was able to rally to defend Europe, and push them back. Even then, they never got pushed back all they way, which is why Constantinople is now Istanbul. Comments anyone?

If, as many appear to think, the Bible is the actual word of your god and your god is perfect.... why are there so many opposing translations? Why does it say one thing at one point, and the exact opposite at another? What has, throughout history, been the source of more confusion than this book? According to this referrence, noone has ever seen your god, except that it also states that he walked with Adam and Eve, and had dinner with Abraham. I've read the entire Bible on more than one occasion. There is so much confusion contained therein, that what should have been one religion, has split into three major religions, with thousands of seperate denominations. If your god created all, as your beliefs dictate, then your god is indeed the author of ALL confusion. How do reconcile this with the fact that, according to your beliefs, your god is all loving and just? Please try to explain this in a way that makes some kind of sense.

No. No, it's the doctrine of original sin. You see, we're all born sinful, except for Jesus who was perfect of course. And he was sent to save us. But how could he save us unless we're sinning? So we have to go on sinning in order to be saved and go to Heaven. That's how Christianity works. That's why it suits so many people.
