I don't think our existence is the result of a series of highly improbable accidents.

I don't think that 40 different men, from different backgrounds, from different areas, who lived over a period of 1,500 years wrote a book, which completely harmonious, of their own accord.

I don't think that stories of a man named Jesus were made up since his existence is confrimed by non-Christian historians who lived around the time he did.

I don't think that all the prophecies the Bible has foretold about our time have come true by coincidence.

So, yes. I believe God is real.

-----------

Sofie - It is true that most modern-day religions have mis-represented God, but this does not mean that he approves of them, or that he does not exist.

The Bible also prophesied that we would see conditions such as those that you describe. 2 Timothy 3:1 says: "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here." (see also Matthew 24:3-14)

The fact that we can see these things unfolding should give us confidence that God does exist and that he will fulfill his other promise to put an end to war, famine, disease, death, etc. in his appointed time.

-----------

Sofie - Jesus was on earth about 2,000 years ago which isn't actually that long ago. All the miracles he performed were a foregleam of what he will do under God's Kingdom. If you do believe that Jesus existed and he helped people, why not believe God's promise that he will put an end to wickedness?

At Revelation 21:3, 4 is a promise for the very near future where it says: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." There is nothing in this world that God cannot undo.

Even if you find that hard to believe, surely it merits some investigation? Sadly, many mistake his patience for non-existence, so I understand your frustration.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a world where everybody said,
'We don't know?'
The fact is that you're surrounded by God and you don't see God,
Because you KNOW ABOUT God.
The final barrier to the vision of God is your God concept.
You miss God because you think you know.
The highest knowledge of God is to know God as unknowable.
All revelations, however divine, are never any more than a finger pointing at the moon.
As we say in the East, 'When the sage points to the moon,
All the idiot sees is the finger'.

Yes of course I know God is real because of the amazing things He's done in my life. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for Him because He saved my life and gave me a hope and a purpose and a destiny and my life is totally amazing now!

Some of you are saying that he is only a figment of my imagination or as real as the tooth fairy or santa which is fine, but I know one day suddenly God will impact your life, turn it around and you will do things that you have never thought were possible and I pray that He will do it just at the time when you least expect it. Cos He's great like that and has got a brilliant sense of humour!!

Did someone say the christian God isnt real (I wont repeat your words) so what other Gods do you believe in then? Whether you believe he is real or not, he is real. Somethings cannot be explained in your life - do you ever wonder why? Its because god holds power over this earth.

Can good and evil exist without God or Satan? Even Satan is real!!

No i don't think there is any god. If you've ever watched the davinci code it will make you seriously question the holyness of the church. Yes i know it's all just theory but the church is one of the most corrupt organisations in history. I think that people created 'god' and the bible because they needed hope. Think about how many people it helps to know that they 'might be going to a better place' when they die. Without this hope people would have nothing to live for and thus would have poor lives. The bible and the whole theory about god just lulls people into a false sense of security thinking that death is infact something good. I have nothing against people who do believe. Each to their own! :)

PLUS - how could someone so lovely let all the bad happen in the world? Murder, wars, death everything. And how can one god (the jews believe in the same god as christians) teach different things to different religions. Total contradiction!

Iron_Serpant.
He's had over a million years to defeat famine and war and so on. And why only create one 'jesus'. Why would he only want to help people that lived a million years ago? So many people have such poor qualitys of lives now why not give his 'powers' to another person to help them. Im sorry but i just find it all a figure of everyones imaginations. But heey whatever floats your boats! If he is real i think he's very sick to sit up on his high almighty throne and have people worship him while he just watches people die.

It depend on your beliefs. I think he is real. Some people say it's all made up to make people feel better about theirselves to know that they will eventually go someplace perfect and without sin. I just try to lead a God pleasing life the best way I can.

Absolutely. Looking at complexity and design in nature convinces me that this did not happen by accident. However, don't always mix up belief in God and belief if religion - much religion causes more harm than good

He's as real as you want to believe.

Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy...those were all real to you at one time, weren't they?

Some people just keep that dream of God alive.

FOOLS!

They read that fairy tale called The Bible and believe it all happened!
