I've noticed that a lot of white people (not all) won't refer to AAs as black...they always say "African Americans"
I call "caucasians" white and I rarely refer to them as caucasian. I don't get offended when I am called black but I get uncomfortable when I am having a discussion about race and white people INSIST on saying African American EVERYTIME...some even go as far as correcting themselves when they "slip up" and call us black.

I think it's kinda funny actually...do you guys (those who do this) think that black people will get offended by your use of the word "black"????

I started a few days ago and I wanted to know how long it will take me to read from cover to cover, I'm not in any rush though, I'm 13 but I wanted to finish it before I get to high school.

Also, I'm not asking for rude opinions on the Bible, just answers from people who have actually read it.

I and my family have been fighting to get our neighbors to get their dogs to quit being so noisy , especially at night. This has been going on for six years. I have taken the neighbo to city court, and the judge ruled the people would have to put their dogs inside( they have 5 rottweilers) so that we can sleep at night. But then she reversed her decision( I guess because the neighbors coerced her to do so) and she said it wasnt fair to the dogs to keep them inside at night. What about the peace that people need? I live in a mobile home, and the dogs baying and barking and howling wakes me up at night. We dont have a animal control either.
Someone send us( the people in town) help against injustices like this.

Other than the fact that humans are smarter (sometimes) and on top of the food chain, there is not alot that makes us more "special" than animals.
We say we are civilized but so did people thousands of years ago that we now consider "savage". We have a conscience and animals do not but how does that make us any greater than them?

Don't you think the only reason humans and not animals have a god and afterlife is only because we have the capacity to think such a thing up?

I was visiting friends last weekend, and I learned that in their country of origin women and men are segregated, and thus are not allowed to have any (no) type of physical contact in public, in front of family members, or friends- even if they are related or married. What consequences do you think this culture may have on its constituents if any? I don't know if you read that Richard Gere got into troubles in India for giving a kiss to an Indian woman on TV, and a Pakistani government employee was criticized for having hugged a man after landing from parachutting. Coming from a different culture for me this is shocking, but I do remember watching movies from the 1940's were two twin beds were for the married couple, and physical contact between men and women was more subtle than these days. What do you think?

I notice more and more younger folks are checking in and are letting their "voices be heard" in the senior citizens' lobby. Some seem to have stumbled into it by accident and don't know how to make a graceful exit. Some who stay are kind and some aren't.

I come from a Christian family who believes that people are to be taught that God is the creator at a very young age. My four year-old sister has had this philosophy pounded into her brain ever since she acquired basic comprehension skills. I do not like that, because at her age, she will blindly follow whatever parents say is right, as she does not yet have the capacity to question the ultimate authority figures in her life.

So, what are your views on the matter, Y!A users? Do you think that children should be taught to adhere to certain religions, or should they be exposed to a variety of belief systems? Is it really fair to teach a doctrine to someone not yet intelligent enough to understand it?

Question for Muslims.?
Well this is going to sound very, very weird but then testimonial are weird. I would say this isn't really a revelation but more of an answer. I used to critize Muslims before, you know you go with what people say usually. There were times when I was really confused and I questioned god existance. I didn't know which religion to follow. So I prayed and prayed and asked god to guide me so I would know which religion is best for me to follow. For days and days straight I dreamt of my self veiled. I know this sounds weird but I could see my self veiled, I was in a black veil, kind of like the Niqab where you could see more than just the eyes but not quite my whole face. That's why recently I have posted so many questions about the Islam faith. Islamic people do you think this could be a revelation about the truth? Please help.

If god is really all knowing why would he give us free will? Wouldnt he know what youre going to do, then would you consider it free will?

Also wouldnt he know that eve would eat the apple?
Then why would god act surprised that Adam and Eve disobeyed him when he knows everything anyways?

Those of you who fight in the lands unperscribed to you by Allah.. he said this will happen.. what is the dialog between you and that angel at that second you die? Such as these people that strap bombs to themselves in the name of Islam, such as those who launch Katoocha rockets into inocent places, such as those who are practicing hypocracy and making mischief in the land.. search Caos.. or Mischief the answer is in the Quran.. Salam, I am searching for it in all other scriptures so those who want to kick sit down for a bit... and see what else I make... revealed by Allah SWT Salam
