Do you confess to "wipe the slate clean" so to speak, so that you can sleep at night? Does it make it ok to sin if you confess afterwards?

Is it our job to find it, to uncover it, to learn it, to unravel it, to somehow, someday, somewhere discover it --- and then live up to it?

Ok, so I was wondering. What are some stereotypes about the people and/or the country out of these following countries:

Italy
Russia
France
UK
Ireland
America
Canada
Mexico

This is what I have:

Italy - they know who to cook and the base of Catholicism

Russia -

France - they eat weird stuff, but also makes good chocolate and champagne

UK - bad teeth

Ireland - men wear skirts (kilts)

America - the "government" seems more like communism

Canada - hockey obsessed

Mexico - hot and all of their food has beans in it

Note: I do not mean to offend anyone by this. Just simply asking

Already there are concerns that the records are too public and that a simple google search can retrieve the names and other information of couple who have registered. Is this the same or different than public information available when Male/Female couples marry, or is it the same situation. Would hiding this information for same sex couples be fair if the same information is available for straight couples? Or, is this one of the "rights" of marriage. Should the information be sealed or public?

Here are some verses on baptism:

Jesus said "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; he that believeth not shall be damned."

Mark 16: 15-16 – He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

1 Peter 3:21 – The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

And another verse says that unless you are born of water (water baptism) AND the spirit (baptism of the Holy Spirit), you cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.

I was never baptised, and I am pregnant, so I am thinking about getting baptised, however, I know absolutely nothing about any religion, I have always just had my own beliefs. My mother and husband are lutheran and want me to get baptised as one.....I am so confused about what to do. I dont even know if I want to have a chosen religion. If you get baptised, do you have to get involved with the church?

Okay, I posted a question about 'dating' and about how I'm afraid to get back into the world after everything has happened and the such in this section. Anyways, first a little info about myself.
I've never found a female attractive, I've been homosexual my entire life. Now, onto the real question.
So, I'm out with a few of my buddies, we're simply hanging out, nothing else is really going on. It's hard to explain, but I'm talking with my friend and in a few minutes, I realize that I've just hooked myself up with a girl. So I go to meet her, and surprisingly, I'm completely in love with her. But the problem is that I've NEVER been attracted to them, I've NEVER really done much around them, undoubtedly I'm nervous, but the problem is, the current situation does not fit in with who I am, I have no idea what to do and I have no idea who I am any more, could someone provide some insight?

This board seems to be plagued by people denouncing evolution and claiming that in light of evolution's "failure", their beliefs stand proud and true.

So why do some religious people seem to think that disproving a pretty solid theory about life will somehow make everyone automatically believe in their creation myths? It's like saying that because something isn't blue then it MUST be red. Why do these people think in such black and white (or blue and red) terms?

1 Corinthians 15:3-6
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me

They all needed the affirmation of faith, why not you?
