1 Corinthians 15:3-6
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me

They all needed the affirmation of faith, why not you?

Arvin...You do realise how incredibly stupid that sounds. In your reasoning to validate your belief you've thrown out all logic.

It is amazing that god meddled regularly with humans for about 2500 years, there were miracles everywhere, he wipped us all out once spoke to moses a few times as well as many others. Then he just stopped for 2000 years? not one peep? How can any sane person buy this?

This will go back to the purpose of miracles--to validate the messenger. Messengers from God were given the ability to perform miraculous acts only during times when God wished to call attention to a new message or new covenant. The miracle was to prove that the messenger was in fact from God. The only times miracles appear in bulk in the Bible are:
1) Moses
2) Elijah / Elisha
3) Jesus & the apostles.

Since we received the New Testament 2000 years ago, there has been no new message or covenant that God has needed to make known to the world. He validated his message then during the life of Jesus and the apostles, and now that we have the new message there is no need to further affirm it.

Frankly, I'm terrified of miracles. But I do not believe that God will come back during my lifetime, so I think I'm safe.

Why would Jesus appear to us. After talking to all those people he went back to Heaven and said that he would not return until he was in his glory again and that when he did it would be to get his children, so he is referring to the rapture. He's not coming back until then, he says that in the Bible. Wouldn't it be cool to see him before though? That would kind of take away the faith part, because you would know he was real. Jesus said blessed are those who believe without seeing. Great question and have a blessed day!

because now He has so many 'Little Jesus' (the people who have great faith, passion, kindness, etc.) and His power has been given to all believers before He went home and get back to His old job - building our houses.

If His assistants do His job well, why should He appear again? A fingersnap of HIS is enough to handle all matters on earth.

He'll come back. Don't worry! The time will come.

Let's also remember that after he resurrected he appeared to some of the apostles as a man they did not recognize. So my question to you would be how do you know He still doesn't? And does his appearance always have to be in the physical form of a man? He appeared to other apostles in a supernatural form (bright countenance, shining clothes, bright enough to knock Saul off his horse). Remember that He is God after all.

She has an addictive personality, previously it was prescription drugs but she's replacing it with addiction to religion, especially taking communion... for now anyway till she gets disappointed and a new thing comes along.

My thought on that is that He appeared to so many back then because He was still on the earth in His resurrected body. He hadn't yet ascended. The only one that we know of that He appeared to after His resurrection was Paul in the form of a bright light. Jesus said in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus when the rich man wanted to send him back to warn his brothers and Jesus said, "They have the writings of Moses and the prophets. If they didn't listen to them they won't listen to someone even though he be brought back from the dead." He was speaking of Himself and how we have the testamonies of the eye witnesses in the bible and how many even who lived back then when He was appearing to so many didn't believe in Him.

Because he is waiting to follow his Fathers command.
At the appointed time he will come as a theif in the night, to end this wicked system and bring the world back into harmony with Gods will.
