Exodus 33:21-23 (when Moses gets the 10 Commandments). "Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen."

Symbolism, I guess. An attempt to make God more accessible to human beings.

Interesting how personification was the choice in the Bible, though God certainly exhibits some very human behavior in terms of thought and emotion as well. A little too much for me to worship it. If I were to ever "bend the knee," it would be to something greater than I am in every way, not just in strength.

God could have hidden himself without anouncing it to Moses. He(God) was not talking about hiding His literal face to Moses. He was not talking about covering Moses with His literal hand until He has literally passed by. There's a message in this passage that only the Spiritual Bible readers will get. The Holy Bible is not written like a magazine that you can grab and read and expect to understand everything written on it. The Truth in the Bible is hidden from the wise and prudent, so that only the ones with spiritual understanding can access the hidden Truth. Amen.

Nephilim big, too, isn't he? Only the giants could cover you with a hand. But, the whole world in his hand? Nahhh.
Humanoid as in like us, but not exactly. Skin, scales, fur or what? The gods (Elohim) have been described in some strange ways.

That passage is metaphorical- it's about the sun casting its shadows, covering you, passing by you, casting YOUR shadow, then moving along its course.

just because He is not made of what we would call a body does not discredit that we are made in his image
