I was visiting friends last weekend, and I learned that in their country of origin women and men are segregated, and thus are not allowed to have any (no) type of physical contact in public, in front of family members, or friends- even if they are related or married. What consequences do you think this culture may have on its constituents if any? I don't know if you read that Richard Gere got into troubles in India for giving a kiss to an Indian woman on TV, and a Pakistani government employee was criticized for having hugged a man after landing from parachutting. Coming from a different culture for me this is shocking, but I do remember watching movies from the 1940's were two twin beds were for the married couple, and physical contact between men and women was more subtle than these days. What do you think?

I'm really, really glad I live in this culture instead of that one. Those taboos seriously impede communication and understanding across gender lines.

In most segregated societies the women are more restricted and have less freedom.

Twin beds? I want adjoining rooms, I need the closet space.

i found this culture better than seeing ppl having sex in streets !!

these stuff u must do wth ur wife or gf alone where u can have more fun..

and how do u agree for ur wife to do that in street??

u must think in the negative way which is what if some1 saw u and later on he met ur wife...isnt u the one having sex in public?? that hurts..

these stuff were made for complete privacy..and u must respect ur family even a little without doing that in front of them...

that's MY opinion...
