If god is really all knowing why would he give us free will? Wouldnt he know what youre going to do, then would you consider it free will?

Also wouldnt he know that eve would eat the apple?
Then why would god act surprised that Adam and Eve disobeyed him when he knows everything anyways?

"Adam, where are you?"

According to the scripture I would say no.

Free will is something that God gave us because he loves us. He knows if we will turn to him and if we do not. He lets us have free will because we all have a purpose for our life. Some it may be to show others that their own choices are not the right way and others it is to follow him without question so that more will know his love.

Think of domino's. If you arranged a 100's of dominoes through out a house so they will topple in a line going from room to room. The first domino starts the chain reaction off. That domino is responsible for the 100's after being toppled. This is the same with knowing and loving God. Your life will effect someones someday and that someone will affect an-others and so on. You do not know all that will happen with a choice you make. The only one is God. He sees all and knows all.

As for God being surprised he wasn't. how can he be if he already knew. The fall from grace that was caused by the eating and later lying about eating the apple is all apart of Gods plan for all of us. Yes there is some faith that one must have when talking about this.

He created everything, knows everything and gave us free will instead of creating robots. Just because He knew what would happen does not mean that He didn't love us enough to create us anyway. We sometimes can tell what our kids are going to do next (whether right or wrong) and let them live that experience just the same because we want them to make their own choices with their own consequences. We don't intervene and live their lives for them. Also, God was not surprised, He was disappointed. He is Our Heavenly Father. If you are a parent you can get the jist of this I think. God bless

knowing all and giving free will are two different things, which may or may not be combined. When you knowingly give a free hand to any body,it implies that the other person is responsible and accountable for his actions,in spite of the fact that you knew it all along. That was also the case with Adam and Eve and they paid the price for their action.I am not viewing this from any religious angle but just from a prevailing social behavior perspective.

well, no one ever said he was suprised, but there is no true love without the choice. they chose not to love him, but after that, the choice didn't go away.
we have complete free will, but we see the parade from the inside, and He sees the whole parade at once, from the outside.. it's a totally different perspective. what looks impossible in here, is totally possible from His viewpoint. He is much more than our brains could possibly imagine.

God did not act surprised He expected them to listen and obey and He still expect it from us today despite the fact that He gave us free will. He knows everything but it is still our choice to accept His gift of love His Son Jesus or not

Have you ever told a child not to eat something, and he did?

Have you ever heard of a child who, after knowing he had done wrong, hid when he heard his father coming?

Have you ever heard of a child who tried to cover up his wrong doing with his own invention, which fell short of undoing the damage?

Have you ever asked your son a point blank question and he blamed his sister?

So why do you have a problem with Genesis 3?

Knowing everything doesent mean he knows the future. What i think anyways.

He is all knowing but with free will he knows what you going to do and will forgive you if you want forgiveness.

worthy is the lamb who was slain before the foundations of the world.
if you have children and teach them right from wrong and they still choose wrong wouldn't you be suprise or disappointed.

yup, He does.
knowing the outcome of your free choice is compatible with you having free will to chose.
God doesn't just know the future, He is in the future. he exists at all times, outside our time dimension.

cheers,

Jack
