Yahoo! Answers users earlier today described ideal Christian behavior, as shown at the following link:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiGlbsjzs4_VmOcbc4_AFYfsy6IX?qid=20070730122818AACrrSa

How often do most Christians measure up to this standard? What stands in their way? What kind of witness does the behavior of most Christians make?

when you sing a song, and you sing it acapella and you really get into it and it seems that the music fills up the whoel room, and you just feel "transported" by it. do you think theres some devine spirit involved in this?

Is deliberately changing the amount of electrical current allowed to pass through the body (as rated in ohms) "evil"? Would you consider this a natural ability discovered, developed and used like any other physical ability? or an example of "witchcraft", "work of satan" or other such concept? Just curious how posters will answer.

I've always been rather ignorant of most religions other than Christianity (I'm not that religious myself) but I'm just curious about this, I've tried to read up on it but a lot of it seems really complicated and I'm just wondering, what is it basically that Jews believe in? Regarding God, and such. Just the basic beliefs, what it's all about...

I am trying to find all the main locations where YHWH shows up.

I know it is the name of the Hebrew G_D.
I know it was in the bible prior to 1914
I know Exodus speaks the name, I AM

I have heard it is the name in the Qu'ran as well but yet to see a copy to ensure this. I have seen it on ancient key stones from indigenous tribes located in America.

I completely understand the name and worship it. But since I am not versed in all religions of the earth, I was wondering does it show up in any others? Could you please share any info you may have? Thanks

I just found out about 20 minutes ago that one of my friends passed away in a car accident. She really didn't deserve that, especially since she lost her life and the driver walked away with a scratch. Why does God allow such things to happen to good, God fearing people? If he loves us so much, and wants what's best for us, why would he sit back and allow these things to happen to good people? It seems like the people who do bad all their lives seem to be rewarded and the ones who try their best to live good, God fearing lives always end up getting screwed. Why did he have to take her? Couldn't he have just allowed her to live, the same way he allowed the driver to just walk away? He's so all knowing and almighty, why couldn't he have stopped this? She was in the prime of her life & now nothing..

*sighs* It saddens me that those who take the Bible too literally, in their zeal for literalism, can go against what Jesus Himself said and preached.

Example, those of you that believe in a literal rapture where people will rise into the air and meet Jesus Christ in the air...
1 Thessalonians 4:17
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

1. GRAVITY would have something to say about that wouldn't it? (It IS a natural law of course, and as a part of the natural world, God made that law didn't He? - yet that would go against His own nature and creation)
2. Jesus Christ Himself refuted this...
Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you.

to me I always seen this as the dead in christ, those who are dead in christ, the ones who did not believe. and yes I have read it all. it could be taken many ways. but as I read it all, i feel this will happen at the end of the trib. yes we may be spared part of the trib, the worts part as the Lord said, pray he will shorten the days. But no I am not convinced the rapture will happen. convince me, please.

Evolutionophobia sufferers or ‘evophobes’ are people suffering a debilitating illness – the fear of proven scientific theories. The illness spreads easily from parent to child and in some areas, it is in near epidemic proportions. Treatment in the form of basic education is readily available and has proven to be very effective in a lot of cases but the illness seems to have a will of its own to survive. Sufferers appear like automatons chanting passages from an old book of nonsense stories and parroting phrases learnt from other sufferers deeper under the effects of the disease.

Eradicating this disease could be modern mans greatest achievement but it’s going to take a lot of effort. Do you care enough?

Everyone knows there is an ongoing debate between Mormons and Traditional Christians. Mormons know their faith is true because god lets them know it is. Traditional Christians also have a personal relationship with god that tells them that they are true. It is apparent that someone is getting incorrect messages from god, but who?

Both groups are sure that they are communicating with god, and their message is genuine. Is it right for one group to be punished in the end, when they strongly believed the were doing gods will?

Is it right for god to allow "something else" to impersonate him, weather it be satan or imagination, and then punish those who were tricked by the impersonator?

Am I not a good atheist/agnostic? Am I a hypocrite? I'm afraid of death and what happens afterwards. How can I get past this?

Religion sounds very hokey to me, but in a way I find it comforting.

I'm not sure what to believe.

My dream is to live in my own Palace of Ice, and I myself as the Snow Queen! Not an evil Queen of course... well, perhaps cunning enough to set winter all the time. And plus, cold temperature all over my palace could somehow preserve my natural beauty, an eternal youth! LoL!!

I prefer cold climate to warm one, and I enjoy winter than summer all the time ^_^ . I really wish I could control the Cold Weather and Blizzard. My element is definitely Water and if somehow I have the power of Ice Storm and Sub-Zero temperature....

Well. my Palace of Ice and my figure as Snow Queen would be such legendary. My Palace is magically hidden and only those with pure heart and noble intention could ever discover it.

I'm a tall, slim, blue-eyed, and silvery blond as the Snow Queen. Lots of men are dying to witness in first hand my pale and fragile image or even be my lover, while uncounts women are desperate for my secret of eternal beauty.... =)
