One who feels a calling, but never undergoes the rigorous academic training that some pastors do. They preach from simply their own understanding of the Bible and from the spirit, without the added credentials of a degree.

Someone who isn't formally ordained by a accredited or respected religious faith.

If, for example, the US Government has given any branch of that faith a 501(c) status, then they are respected and accredited by the IRS.

Hence Scientologists and the Universal Life Church can qualify.

I believe it is a member of the congregation that preaches on occasion, not like a pastor. But I could be wrong.
