IDK! Life is so busy though, maybe people just get caught up, I know I do! Many people don't believe things unless they see them, and they can't see heaven or hell, so that might be why. It's easier to be in denial, and just do what they want.

I've never understood how you could fall for the heaven line......
here's my take on it.... you are given all these rules to live by on earth.... rules that oppress and/or make life less pleasant.... you are told someday you will be rewarded in a magical place called heaven, where there will be less rules to live by... freedom and joy happiness in abundance... now here's the thing you really have to consider.... why strict confining rules where you know life exists, you know being here on earth is called being alive don't you? so your enjoyment of this life is limited... you pay money to some church who does nothing but make you do what they want... "boy he's good, I've heard of slavery but to have slave pay you on top of you not paying them is a good trick" back to the point... you give up freedom and in reward you get nothing, because he knows there's nothing after life, so once you get there you can't complain, cause you ain't go no life left to do that with.... further more you can't come back and warn anyone either.... somewhere the bible says that the devil will deceive many... so all the christians are condemning non christians pointing fingers at those who are free... yet truly fail to see that they are the ones deceived.

Its a solemn choice to accept or reject God, the Bible even states most will reject Him. God respects our choice. Of the millions of trivial choices we make over the course of a lifetime, only ONE is the MOST important, and that is if we choose Him or not. Salvation comes through knowing Christ, we receive it through grace not by our deeds or other means. Many people choose to rely on themselves, failingly, than rely on God. Since their belief system, which they cannot prove involves no God, therefore anything else, heaven or hell, angels or demons dont exist either. They do exist. We can only pray to soften their hearts.

we can not run around telling others "get saved or die in ever lasting fire" because that is where people are saying "what kind of God would draw you in using fear".
I remember when I was saved and my daughter wouldn't believe, so I showed her a ton of biblical movies, she cried, and felt sorry for Jesus, then she asked to be saved.... why did she want to be saved? because she felt sorry for Jesus and because I pounded "hell" in her brain.
people are right, fear simply isn't the way, either you believe or you don't, but by any means we don't say "eat your pea's or I will choke you" , because it don't work, fear only works with Mafia.
I had another person ask me "exactly what does it mean to be saved" ... when I got stumped for a logical explanation and not a biblical one I discovered perhaps "SAVED" isn't exactly the approach either. because they want to know saved from what, and we say "hell" ... well hell don't work with them.
I can go on and on about what I have learned in my religious journeys, point being, they are who they are, we are who we are now that we know that let's move on to those who want to hear about it and learn.

First of all, what do you call not doing anything? What is 'salvation' in your point of view? whatever it is, it might not be the same as mine.
Also, I don't know about YOUR God but MY God is too big and loving and forgiving to send anyone to a place of damnation for eternity.

Well if you are trying to understand, then understand this:-
Atheists believe:-
There is NO God, NO Heaven and NO Hell!
And most of all, there is NO SALVATION.
So why should we fear something that does NOT exist?
Or try to stop something that is NEVER going to happen?
The truth IS out there, just open your eyes.

Because the entire concept is nonsense. There is not the slighest reason to believe a word of it. This is yet another instance of "Pascal's Wager", which you can research on Wikipedia.

Its simple, To decide to believe in something that does not make sense to you, just so that you do not go to hell, is dishonest. I will not compromise my integrity simply to avoid getting tortured. Christianity feels incomplete and false to me and It is WRONG for anyone or anything to "fear" me into believing it. That is barbaric.

1. I'm an Atheist, I don't believe in Heaven, Hell, God, or Satan.
2. Suggesting that I don't believe in any of that, I don't feel the need to be "saved".

Why waste your points on another Pascal's Wager question?
Why not add some wrinkles to the wager?
