In this category in particular I find that the Q&A is often either rhetorical or tongue in cheek - both of which are humorous (in different ways) but neither particularly insightful (or insight-seeking). Furthermore there are a number of people that seem to ask questions and pick the "best answer" to be the one that follows their own beliefs. Their choice, of course.

My questions:

1. Do you ever look at a person's choices of "best answers" to infer any innate biases before/after answering a question?

2. If so, how do you distinguish between "best answers" chosen by the Y!A community at large (i.e., votes) vs those chosen by the asker. (There's probably a really easy way right under my nose but I don't know it).

I am mexican and I love our spanish culture. There are number of mexicans that were born in Spain. During the time of the spanish revolution in Spain, a number of spaniards migrated to Mexico. They are old people that are still alive as of this day living in Mexico. Mexicans who are spanish born in Spain.

We have spanish cultural festivals in Mexico:

Is it another term for no strings attached with sex? This sounds dumb to ask but there's a debate about the right answer. Some have said its like having no commitment. Some have said its like come over when you feel like. Please help clarify some light of this issue. Do not answer with wisecracks or insults. This is serious.

Severeal Atheists on Yahoo! Answers, I have noticed, spend much of their time answering questions asked by Believers. And what do most of these answers submitted by non-believers consist of? Insulting and/or words attempting to persuade us to stop believing. To me, it's utterly ridiculous that they'd even try such a thing. And the fact that they become so annoyed when people with religion try to force their beliefs on them; then they turn right around and basically do the same exact thing to us! Can we say "hypocrites" much?!

I would never spend an iota of my time approaching an Atheist or a person of a religion different than my own and telling them what they should believe in, so I'd greatly appreciate if people would stop doing that to me.

I am an agnostic (i.e. I don't know and don't think I can know whether God exists). Does this mean that if I die as an agnostic and it turns out that He does, I will not be forgiven for being agnostic?

I am a Mormon and I have nothing against it! Why do so many people say Scientology is a cult and is evil and all that stuff!?!?!? As a Mormon, who is constantly ridiculed about being in a "cult," I cannot stand for this! What did Scientologists ever do to you?!?!?!?!?

Ever hear of soul retrieval? That we create energies with our emotions. And can suffer something so traumatic, we "scare" a part of ourself away. Chase off our own energy!

Why can't I interpret the Bible on my own, why the church says it's only and exclusively up to her to do so?

What makes us so different from them, do they feel they're the only ones worthy of saying what God likes and what dislikes?

I've been dating this guy, we're not boyfriend and girlfriend yet, but we spend a lot of time together, so it feels like we're dating. Last week he asked me out to dinner at a restauraunt. Nothing too extravagant or fancy, but it was nicer, and above fast food. When the bill came... he laid his half of the money down...and I didn't think to bring money with me, so he had to pay the whole thing. I felt bad, but.. I thought the guy or the person who asks is supposed to pay on a date. So I'm seeing him again tonight, but I'm going to feel akward giving him his money back, or should I just "forget".. it's like $35.

Well I'm 18 and I have been living with my boyfriend for a year, so it is a very serious relationship. He has been telling me lately that I'm crazy and he wants to get me help, (just yesterday this happened he didnt want to be bothered with anyone because he said he had a toothache but it hurt me so bad that he didnt want to be around me that I was crying and he just ignored me because he said i had no reason to cry and all i wanted was to know that he cared that i was crying but he wouldnt look at me, only the TV. so i got so frustrated i started throwing stuff and then i told him i wanted to kill myself, and i really do want to kill myself when he makes me feel like he doesn't care about me) do I need help? how can i get it i have no health care or money?
