Depends.
First, there is a lot of evidence that there are no gods. If you look at the history of each god, you'll see that they all have very human origins. And there really isn't anything particular consistent or divine among any of them.
However, let's suppose that there is a god. Given the total lack of evidence for any god, there are an infinite possible gods that each have equal chance of existing. Those gods would range from those that love members of a certain religion and hate any variation from that religion to gods that really don't deal with humans at all. There are possible gods that reward people from many religions and it's even possible that a god would like rational atheists and dislike sheeplike religious people. You could even have a god that likes only agnostics, however you define that.
So, in short, the answer is: depends.

First of all, I am a Christian. Born again, recently, but I do believe in God and have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I was agnostic for decades but felt myself being drawn to God more strongly as time went on. I think you can go to Heaven if you accept Jesus even on your death bed. You can't just say, "OK I believe!" God will know if you are really accepting Him. But why wait? You cannot "earn" salvation. The only way to Heaven is to accept Christ as your Savior. Living a "good" life won't do it. Acting like Mother Theresa won't do it. Even if you have committed murder, you can still be saved. Grace is a gift given by God to those who believe. But God DOES know your heart. Lip service won't work. You MUST repent, and accept Jesus into your heart. It is so easy and the relief after is incredible. Many people fear death. Knowing that death is not the end can be a truly humbling experience.
Be well and God bless you. I know He has blessed me greatly.

It's never wrong to question. Thing is, does the questioning help you become a better person or does it narrow you down to a single question?
If you don't believe in God, first question is, what is a god? Is it an archetype? A principality? An order of society? A power with thunderbolts that strikes people when they don't do what is being commanded? What is a god?
Then if we have the answer, then we can begin to really see if we do know or don't know whether God exists.

John F... God knows everything you think and say already... He knows why you hesitate, or why you have turned away, or whom may have influenced your decision for doing so either by what they said or what they did or what they DIDN'T do... especially if it be one or more Christians whom may have been the deciding factors.
Questions that I myself can't help wondering.
What are some of the things that concern you? What ARE your reasons behind your inability to believe?
Have you ever spoken to anyone about this?
There a number of good, caring, strong, TRUE Christians here at R&S... maybe you have been drawn to one or another of us thinking that maybe you could speak without fear of being ridiculed or ashamed?
Trust your instinct and leading... anything you say will be treated with respect for silence, and, no "push" to make a decision you aren't ready for.
Can't hurt. Try it. :)
May you find answers and Peace. :)

Im sure you will be forgiven for God loves all. However, I wouldn't wait until the last minute when I am face to face with God because that defeats the purpose of faith. You have to have FAITH in Him and that He is the way. Waiting to see if he is real and then changing your mind in fear of going to hell won't look too good in God's eyes. So start now because you never know when your day will come.

Yes I think you are forgiven, but you wouldn't be agnostic if you think about forgiveness in the first place.

I believe only God can answer this question as He is the one who forgives. Too often those who call themselves Christian forget that the God they worship is wise, loving, just, merciful and perfect.
Don't forget agnosticism is not atheism and as such does not say there is no God but that we cannot know God or we have no knowledge of God.
It could be that your asking of this question might be a step upon a spiritual journey.
God bless.

If you have lived your life as an agnostic and you have been a good person of course you will be forgiven if you were an agnostic. I believe that God created all of us and gave all of us free will. God is all-knowing and all-loving. We will be judged on our words and deeds throughout our lifetime.

According to the Bible, the ONLY sin that cannot be forgiven is blasphemy against the "Holy Ghost"...
Matthew 12:31-32
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Mark 3:29
But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
Luke 12:10
But unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven
So be nice to people, don't blaspheme the Holy Ghost, and just say sorry if you do happen to meet "God" when you shuttle off this mortal coil!
