I collect all manner of quotes and stuff , and have had this little collection for ages ( although they dont apply to me )
so they are for you and I hope they make you smile

A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.

Don't put a question mark where God puts a period.

Are you wrinkled with burden? Come to the church for a face-lift.

When praying, don't give God instructions -- just report for duty.

We don't change God's message -- His message changes us.

The church is prayer-conditioned.

Plan ahead -- It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.

Exercise daily -- walk with the Lord.

Many spiritual beliefs have prophecies, but they are meaningless unless they are very clear as to what will happen, and they become true. Do you agree with this?

Positive Actions and Love carry has no boundries. But at the same time we are social creatures so we need to be part of a group too at the same time. The main purpose of all the religions was to create unity but lack of tolerance and compassion seems to be prevailent now. So how can we eleviate our thinking and rise above the religious bounds that make us narrow-minded and full of ego making us believe we are the Chosen Ones. What are the steps that you can suggest to clear our minds and see the human being, a part of ourself in all?

Evolution is just a theory, a hypothesis. There is no scientific evidence correct? If I am wrong, please correct me. My point is, if I am correct and it is just a hypothesis, then why do a lot of athesists and agnostics place so much "faith" in it? I usually get discredited on my faith in Christ with the theory of evolution.

There are two legit reasons why we don't feel His presence. It isn't because He doesn't want us to feel his presence. These 2 legit reasons proves His presence, if you have them, then you feel His presence because Jesus had them when He was on this earth. What are those 2 legit reasons?

I have posted two. You can read them (click on my avatar and then go to my questions) and reply as they are still open and I need more responses please. This is my last one and I ask it here because this category gets more responses than any other. Here's the question:

Do you think it is just human nature to blame the victim when we feel helpless about a situation, or is it that we are so over burdened with social issues that we offer answers that blame the victim because we are not informed enough about the nature of the problem?

I ask because I can't believe we are as hard hearted as the responses I got to my questions. I asked if there were legislative efforts to end homelessness that I could support. No one answered that question. Everyone just explained why people are homeless (offering welfare, addictions, choice. DUH.) Maybe they didn't understand? When I say legislation, I mean things like slum landlords that profit from squatters, city ordinances that shuffle peop

I'm a devout atheist. I acknowledge this; I absolutely refuse to believe in God or any other holy entity. (I used to believe, but certain things in life made me lose faith... well, thats another story)
I strongly disagree with trying to insult people who have different opinions (everybody is entitled to their own beliefs). However, I love discussing it, and sharing viewpoints. I friendly debate, if you will ^^
So, my question is:
To. atheists: why do you reject god? (please don;t give a simplistic reply such as "because there is no god!")
To. religious people: how do you justify your beliefs from the arguments of atheists? or what makes you believe in God?

Please, lets refrain from completely disregarding others' opinions. If we MUST argue, why not do it in a friendly debate?

Creationists argue that the universe is too complex to exist without a desinger. Creationists have a huge problem believing that the universe can be complex without a designer, but they have absolutely no problem believing that God, who is way more complex than our universe, can exist without a designer.

The whole "thumbsdown" "thumbsup" system.

How can you recieve thumbsup for idiotic comments about Black people yet, a response to the foolishness gets repeated thumbsdowns?

It only goes to show what kind of people are lurking on this site.

... supposedly "supernatural higher beings". Examples might include aliens, angels, etc?

I expect most answers will be no since most if not all examples would violate the empirical evidence requirement. However, there might be some who might dismiss the existence of an omni-X "God" but accept the "logical" possibility of an evolutionary process that might arrive at other races more sophisticated than our own.

Understand that in the above, by "angel" I don't necessarily mean the Judeochristian spiritual being but perhaps (for example) a benevolent advanced being that has found a way to transcend spacetime and who might be mistaken for angels in the Judeochristian theology.

Of course, the examples I gave are just that - examples. I'm more curious if your conclusion about the (non-)existence of a god is based on a logical process that might not preclude "lesser" beings or rather on an empirical process for which you see none and that therefore would presumably preclude these too.

I asked the question as an educated and free thinking young individual. The answers I recieved were from two extremes (with a few in the middle). Christians answering were obviously Christian and they were kind (in a way that they found someone else and could try to defend their faith). Non-Christians were very defensive. I wasn't atacking anyone. Yes I realize it sounded like I was calling every college nonchristian student ignorant and I appologize. I was just able to make first impressions of most the people at orientation (usually talking about partying) and it made me sad. I realize I come from more of a shelterd school but I did my share of partying. I was hoping that students going off to college would be more mature as a whole than what I experienced in my first few days. But what I wanted to ask and hopefully those who responded with personal remarks on the last post would answer. Is why did you take that so personally I wasn't saying anything about you?

In the religions of Christianity and Islam, it is predicted that Jesus of Nazareth would come back.
If he did come back who would he recognize as the people he had once lived with.
In my opinion, I believe that if indeed he came back, he would recognize the muslims/Jews who are living in the middle east, mainly because of the similarities of dress, language, and culture between modern day palestine/Isreal(any other dominantly muslim country)
But that is my opinion

Sacrifice him. In order for Jesus to qualify as a savior he must be forgotten. So-called Christians have not accepted that their fair-haired boy died. Even though he did not die as reported in your wannabe bible he still died. Sacrifice him. Forget him. That would be your sacrifice to equal his. Duh!

Christians are constantly finding flaws in science, scientific research and scientific theories. One Christian asked earlier what new groundbreaking ideas has Richard Dawkins had of his own...or even slightly original.

This made me wonder about religion, Christianity specifically.

Since I believe that religion squashes free thought and new ideas, please tell me who in the Christian world...whose career is in religion...has something to say that adds to what you already know about your religion? Where is the evolution of ideas in your religion?
