I have posted two. You can read them (click on my avatar and then go to my questions) and reply as they are still open and I need more responses please. This is my last one and I ask it here because this category gets more responses than any other. Here's the question:

Do you think it is just human nature to blame the victim when we feel helpless about a situation, or is it that we are so over burdened with social issues that we offer answers that blame the victim because we are not informed enough about the nature of the problem?

I ask because I can't believe we are as hard hearted as the responses I got to my questions. I asked if there were legislative efforts to end homelessness that I could support. No one answered that question. Everyone just explained why people are homeless (offering welfare, addictions, choice. DUH.) Maybe they didn't understand? When I say legislation, I mean things like slum landlords that profit from squatters, city ordinances that shuffle peop

people around, inadequate shelters, etc. Addictions, lazy people who don't want to work, etc., etc, and all that aside, we still live in a wealthy country with THOUSANDS living on the streets. Many are familes hard on their luck due to lack of education, etc. Some social programs are just self-sustaining and help very little. So when I say legislation, I mean changes that would stop people from profiting from this pox on our society.
I live in KY and am an empty nester. I am looking to volunteer my time to a permanent solution via the law by supporting such an initiative. Anyone know where I can start?

It is human nature to the extent that we are unwilling to admit to ourselves that we are the society to which they have become unable to participate or belong. If we blame ourself, we feel guilty. If we blame our society, we are obligated to change it. But if we declare the victim mal-adjusted we are able to quickly forget that only pure luck is why we are not sitting beside them with an empty paper cup.

your questions are labled private, the goverment i think does help alot with homeless people, i just think that a lot of people choose to live this way, in my city there are some low income town homes that are fancier then i (a law inforcement officer) can afford. you just have to know where to look
sure more could always be done.

also i have had some mighty rude answers to my questions so you are not alone in that aspect

the best that you can do,, is to keep your children from falling into the lost world that claims the un lucky . if your child desides to go down one of those paths you need to do all you can to bring them back to ,,, Reality ... but people who choose those paths , were warned that a certain behavior would result in loosing out.... and they fliped someone the bird ... and off they went .... bonkers is the only one I know of who wound up there without cause ,, But bonkers doesnt even know that theyve got it bad , to bonkers it's LIFE,,,
