Why can't I interpret the Bible on my own, why the church says it's only and exclusively up to her to do so?

What makes us so different from them, do they feel they're the only ones worthy of saying what God likes and what dislikes?

Ben, if you've begun to read our Bible, your probably finding out that what the Bible says & what is being taught in the churches today are two completely separate things. By way of simple interpretation: the Bible clearly declares the 7th day of the week (Saturday) as the Holy Weekly Sabbath Day, yet, todays churches almost all gather on Sunday to worship!"? I've read that Bible front to back many times & the church has no written authority to have changed the Sabbath Day to the first day of the week. Any first grade reader can see the truth in the Bible, yet, they follow what some preacher tells them, believing that the preaher is supposed to be some holy person worthy of leading them in paths that most no nothing of, regardless to what the Bible might say. I'm here to tell you that that is treading on dangerous ground!!!!! When we blindly follow the word of some backwater preacher instead of following the Bible & what it teaches we literally take upon ourselves the "mark of the beast". We belong to whom we obey: If you obey the Bible & what it says, you'll live! If you deny the Bible because of what some demon inspired preacher tells you, then you will die! You better keep questioning the church young man, & prayerfully, YAHWEH may call you to HIS HOUSE in Abilene Tx., the HOUSE OF YAHWEH!!! For information call 325-676-9494

I also have to ask what you mean by "the Church". The Church is made up of believers in Jesus. This includes people who attend many different kinds of churches.

Anyone or any church that tells you they are the only one with the truth is to be SERIOUSLY questioned. A church might do this because they want to control their members.

You are totally capable of reading the Bible on your own. There are probably lots of good churches in your town that would welcome you and your questions about the Bible. Most have some type of bible study groups that get together and discuss, even question.

Of course you can question the church, but I think that if you're unhappy with the way that your church interprets the bible, then you're probably best off finding a church that is more suitable for you.

The bible is a very old text that has been translated countless times. I believe that no one person is right about bible interpretations, and I can take or leave a lot of stuff that I am given.

You can question the church, they're just telling u not to, and that is what every member is afraid to overstep. In a church, or any group setting, if i have something i really want to say, i say it, but u will be recognized whether u want to or do not, for doing something that others are to shy to do themselves, and the objecting authority will only be offended , if they are offended, because of the statement that has not been said or that innterups their planned schedule, but really, it is your decision what u want to ask, not theirs. Especially in a church setting, God was origanally the leader of the world , including it's churches, and still is, society has just made that less known by covering it up with their own ways of leading. When it comes to God, there should be no restriction. Say what u feel led to say for Him.

The church gets questioned 24/7, where have you been? You can interpret the Bible on your own any way you like.

You can question the church. Sometimes God gives each person the knowledge of a verse. That will help you learn the Bible better. You can read the Bible all you want, but if you haven't got the Holy Spirit to help you understand it you never will.

What you should be doing is talking to a priest or pastor at your church to DISCUSS how different views of the Bible could be--it shouldn't be "well I think this and therefore I'm going to blow everyone else's opinion off". . . you have to remember that there are people that have dedicated their lives into studying the Bible. Bible Study time is the time to bring up your views and your questions... but it should be done as a way to better understand the Bible and not a way to try to show everyone else that you know better than the church.

By the way... which "church" are you referring to? There are so many denominations with differing points of views . . . one of them should be pretty close to yours, no?

You must be Catholic. The Holy Spirit is the believer's interpreter and He uses the Church to do this. Don't throw away over 2,000 years of Chruch history; but don't follow her blindly either. As long as the Church is in accordance with Scripture, follow the Church. If not, follow the Reformers

Good question! Who do you consider "the Church"? Please don't lump all denominations together. Any church who chooses your interpretation of the Bible for you isn't being biblical. The purpose of the church is to introduce you to the Word and the One who wrote it, and encourage you to read it for yourself. Discipleship is mentoring someone through the process, not telling someone what to believe.

Anyone who places himself as a mediator between you and Christ is misguided as best.

it's called control of information... did you know that people were murdered for translating the bible from latin into english... that's because the church doesn't follow what's inside... for example the second command is don't bow down to statues.. but the pope and priest do that daily... why do they do that... to increase their spiritual power... the church is designed to conquer the world never was it meant to be peaceful.... the bible is nothing more than stolen information that the church studied to improve it's odds spiritually..
