Heart break, heart ache and experience of just living a not so happy childhood. Pain has made me stronger, given me wisdom. Wisdom to recognize and appreciate love and contentment when it comes my way.

Don`t give up! Become clear what you really want. Is what you want really based on a wish to do something good or a wish to be important? Separate this two feelings. If you want to make your life purposeful start with making another persons life better. Give the cleaning lady a smile or say a nice hello to your neighbor. If you help others, if you love others you will be helped yourself. A top position, lots of money, influence does not mean you are happier then a person who does not have that! It is an illusion to think that. I talk here from own experience and I know many people in this positions. Better do something coming from your heart. Do not compare yourself with others. Comparing breeds bitterness. Added that a day later: Often God does not answer, as we are not grateful for the beautiful things we already have. If you always concentrate on what you miss you will get nothing more. On what you concentrate gets stronger. Concentrate on the good, then this gets stronger.

In reality, wisdom comes from appreciating the things you possess inherently, not in physical possessions, or even personal achievements. In general, the only thing that you can "gain" in life to contribute to your wisdom is experience, and honestly, I even question the value of that (as I have yet to meet a wise old hermit in my travels, but have seen many wise, albeit misguided, youth).

after a divorce, marriage to a wonderful man, 3 kids, an education.....etc .............
I'd have to say the biggest thing that contributes to my wisdom is just life experiences.

Knowing the 'better' use of that self-awareness.
Self awareness is unique to just the human beings.
Maintaining the self awareness at possible peak levels throughout takes us beyond the sensory levels of perceptions, and that is the highest human possibility.

You don't have control over anything in this life except your attitude. Choose to have a good, positive one. If you get all angry, you only hurt yourself. It'll make you sick.
