The Bible claims that the the whole world flooded and that the sea level went above the tip of the highest mountain ie. Mount Everest.

The Bible claims that this occurred due to heavy rainfall that lasted for 40 days. However, if you consider how rain is created, this makes no sense. Rain is formed when sea water evaporates and forms water vapour in the sky which then condenses back into water due to low temperature and falls onto the land.

How could rain result in the sea level rising above the tip of Mount Everest if every drop of rain that falls is taken from the sea?

The only way to raise the sea level would be to add water to it. The only way this could happen is if the polar ice caps melted. However, it has been estimated that even if all the ice on the Earth melted, the sea level would only rise around 80 meters. Mount Everest is around 9 km above sea level. The average mountain range is around 2-3 km above sea level. Thus, people living on mountains would survive the flood.

Or does it depend on how much you have been hurt? As a Christian it is a mainstay of my faith, but at times I find it incredibly difficult.

As I was working in my garden a red tailed hawk from a near by nest circled over at a very low height. He carried a long ceder branch which he dropped at my feet. I was thrilled, and am convinced there is meaning. Any ideas?

Once in college I met this girl at a bar and we really hit it off. I lost her number but I had told me where she lived. I drove halfway across town and rang her doorbell every day for two weeks until I finally found her at home - she was just that vile and tempting.

(We ended up dating for two years.)

When did you begin to take on the new identity?
Do you think you will stay in the new country?
Where you fascinated with the new country before you moved there? For example, were you a Francophile or Anglophile before you moved to France or England?

Do you believe in "We are here for a good time, not a long time"? If everything is a sin, who created Alcohol? The Catholics. They also love gambling. They organised all the bingo nights. Life is a gamble but, if we keep our eyes closed & our legs closed, we will never have the fun we were suppose to have. Right?

I think it takes some bravery to turn away from sweet offers and salvation, and to take responsibility for your own actions.

I am not an Atheist, but I wan't to hear if anyone can flaw that statement.

After so many years of the Fundamentalists running Amerika (in the form of Bush and God's Own Party) and so many polls from so many countries showing what low opinions we have of you because of it, why did the real Christians allow this to happen?

I mean, if the real Christians are -so- opposed to what the Fundamentalists have done, why didn't the real Christians stop them?

After all, it is not like the Fundamentalists are a majority of Christians, is it?

Or would it be fairer to say that the real Christians granted tacit approval to the Fundamentalist cause, while making sure if anything went wrong it would be the Fundamentalists who took the fall?

A sin of ommission is as bad as a sin of commission, isn't it? If you failed to try to stop them, you are a willing accomplice, are you not?

And since the non-Fundamentalists represent a majority, and did not stop the Fundamentalists, who then is at fault for the Fundamentalist Ascendacy in Amerika?

hi...i'm a 24 yr old woman. i work in the corporate sector and the future looks bright for me. i'm a part time student too. i have many things to my credit at work and believe me i had no doubts about my abilities.....but i found other ppl being considered for posts which should have been mine. it happened a lot many times and one day i went to my senior and vent it out. he was calm about it and said that i was lacking in only one area and could be a stalwart if i amend it. well i know ppl here are gonna judge but i did it for the sake of work....it wasn't supposed to be a shortcut to success. i slept with him and soon enough i found that my work was finally getting the recognition due. that was sometime back. yesterday that senior of mine proposed me. why would he do that? he's the most powerful guy in our sector and in his late twenties. i don't know how to respond...why did he propose me? i've never heard of guys proposing girls who could sleep with them for a favor.

If it weren't for the Crusades Islam would of over run Europe. You would be praying to Allah and living under Shia law. Many of you who think that Christianity is bad, like those in the west who are into a spirit of self destruction, are blind to the fact that Christianity saved you from Islam. You are free because of Christianity.

A recent question made me remeber this question of mine asked nearly a year ago, so I thought I'd ask it again and see how many tackle it...

Have you ever heard of the concept of freezing people with a terminal illness and then bringing them back after the cure is found? I know it's more fiction than science, but for this question, let's all presume it's possible.

If you are frozen for say... a decade. They find the cure, bring you back, and fix you up. Are you 10 years older? I mean physically and mentally you wouldn't have aged, right? But, your birth certificate would still be the same, so legally would you be 10 years older? If so, what if you were 16 when you were frozen. Technically, you'd be 26, but would you be allowed to drink, vote, etc.?

Now for the real deep thinkers... what would happen to your soul during that 10 years?

Impress me and I'll give you best answer and thumbs up 10 of your other answers (if you have that many) for a total of 20 points!

For those of u who believe that baptism is necessary for salvation, whose name should we be baptised under - the Father, Son & Holy Spirit (Trinitarian formula) or in the name of Jesus Christ?

PS: There's some speculation that Mark 16 verses on baptism (the Trinitarian formula) were added much later in the 3rd century AD, and there's evidence that the early church before then baptised in the name of Jesus Christ only.So which is right?

If so does this mean god created evil given the rationale often stated here by Christians that the devil is the source of all evil.

A lot of Christians say their god created everything so what's their theory with respect to how evil came about?

I have a Bible for teens, and there are questions in the front on each thing about different things God says to do and not to do. And it gives you where it says in in the Bible. But it doesn't answer the question in "Christian-but-can't-understand-what-the-in-the-world-the-Bible-says" speak. So, here's my question:
What CAN we pray for? And what are we supposed to thank God for?
So, basically, how are you supposed to pray? I pary every night. But I'm afraid I'm not doing it right.
