As I was working in my garden a red tailed hawk from a near by nest circled over at a very low height. He carried a long ceder branch which he dropped at my feet. I was thrilled, and am convinced there is meaning. Any ideas?

That's good luck. And, cedar is very sacred. You are a lucky person, I'm Native American and would love for that to happen to me!! Keep the cedar branch and smoke your house with it!!!

Some time ago I researched Native American stories. I don't have the sites anymore, but there is a ton of stuff out there on google. Do include Indian, as well as American Indian or Native American as one of your search terms.

Do you remember what you were thinking about at the time? Hawk is a messenger. Cedar is used to keep away death.

depends on your tribes beliefs. If your not tribal, then who's territory your in.

Say that happened HERE in my peoples territory. Cedar here is not sacred, it's used as a deodorant, and to keep bugs away. So it could be I needed a bath, or it wanted me to leave.

sort of kin to offering someone a 'mint'
