This is a great question. Yes GOD uses evil and evil people to accomplish his purposes. Satan is against GOD and also uses evil and evil people to accomplish his purposes. Most Christian fellowships today water down the Bible and even Jesus own words in order to get more nickles and noses. When you twist the Bible in even the smallest way you start to create holes in reality. GOD corrects his kids the same way we do. The difference is the end result of the situation that evil is used. I am not a sin sniffer parasitic pew warmer. I watch and pray and wait for the results of a situation before I assign blame if I blame at all.

I am a Christian and do not believe people use satan to explain evil.
God created the KNOWLEDGE of good and evil--if we did not have this then we truly would not have free will. We would have no choice. God created satan--satan can not create anything.
IF you understood anything--you'd understand that God is sovereign and even uses evil for his purposes. He allowed Paul to have a messenger of satan buffet him (2 Cor 12:7)--for the purpose of keeping him humbled so he would depend on God alone.
Just look at these verses:
Romans 8:28, "And we know that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Even satan and the demons will one day acknowledge who JESUS is:
Philippians 2:10-12, "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Because God created Satan ...and only allows his evil to go so far....Satan becomes a pawn in the purposes of God...
We as Chrstians have the same authority over evil ...and evil people are only pawns in God's ultimate purpose.

They dodge this one, as the guy did above, by saying god brings "calamity." Unfortunately, the ORIGINAL hebrew uses the word "ra" which is very accurately translated as "evil" and it is the most common word in describing Satan.

"The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil" (Prov 16:4 KJV) -- "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?" (Amos 3:6 KJV).

My translation says "I bring prosperity and create disaster." I think that's a better description since God does do that. He does bring disaster on those who disobey Him.
