Yes, all organised religion is a tool invented by man as a means of mass control.
The Bible and Koran however, are not invented by man, but are used by religions as the truth-bait on the hook, in order to catch people and draw them in.
If you separate the Bible and Koran totally from organised religion, and read them with a totally open mind and without any preconceptions, you will find them to be something totally different from what religions say and do.
They are for each individual, on an individual basis, a personal guide to self-awareness, self perfection and to life on earth and in the universe. To be interpreted by yourself, to nobody but you; and to be applied by yourself, to nobody but you.

Of course, and as with most forms of control it's through fear where do you think the phrase the fear of god originates, you only have to look at blancats idiotic answer to realise he/she is a petrified little moron.Bibble Bashers tend to have no tangible answers to anything in this modern world. The only thing religion may help with is instilling some sort of discipline into people, but why can't individual's do this themselves.

All organisations are a tool to control people. Religion is just another power base.

Without a doubt, YES. Religions were created by simple humAns who realized that they can control people by proclaiming that they were spoken to by God and told to relay that information to us.
The prophets that truly connected with their Divine Nature got it right, but it's the thousands of years of perversion by the people who followed them that's wrong.
It's rediculous that we still put all belief and faith into words written by someone thousands of years ago instead of seeking answers to our spiritual questions NOW in our own hearts HERE. That to me is passing the buck and not taking any responsibility for our own spirituality. We'd all rather just be told what to do, what to say, what not to say.... we live out of fear of God and everything else and we just want a rule book to follow so we don't have to THINK or SEEK for ourselves.
It's sad.
Religions have done nothing but tell us that we are wrong and imperfect and that we have to go through THEM to get to God. Religions cause separatism and division from our Divine Spirits, that way they can maintain control over us. Religions sanction killing in the name of God.
Because humAns have forgotten their True Divine nature as being ONE WITH God and not one separate from God, we have let people in charge of religions tell us what to do to get closer to God.
The Age of Pisces is ending...the age when people slept underneath the veil of religion to seek a connection with their Divine Source.
Now we are entering the Age of Aquarius, the age when we seek freedom and independence from thousands of years of religious programming and AWAKEN to our true nature... which is that we are destined to become powerful co-creators with God.
