Really? Well I can't bag the Catholics so much anymore if they created alcohol ... but hang on I remember hearing the ancient aborigines of Australia knew the secrets of fermentation and they never knew the Christian god...
Yes we are hear to live our lives and not make silly statements such as those that that were in that you tube link I posted in your other question...did you get it? It is 9 minutes long so maybe watch it later BUT definitely watch it. You will even recognise some of the worst offenders avatars.

I'm religious.
I personally am here for a good time, but what I consider a good time to be is learning and expanding my knowlege. A religious person does not have to 'keep their legs closed' in all cases - some religions in fact promote sexual experimentation. Let's not forget that the Karma Sutra is a religious text, and that Christianity dictates that sex within a relationship is a beautiful and God-given gift.
As for fun - what do you consider fun to be? What do your friends consider fun to be? What about your mum and relatives? Do you all like the same things? Of course not! Everyone likes different things - just because you may not consider some aspects of certain religions 'fun' that does not mean that others don't.
Edited to add:
Do not think that I am some un-experienced Bible-basher either. I have seen much of the 'other' side of life - I have taken drugs, I have slept around, I have slept with both men and women, I have been to gay and straight clubs, I have committed crime, I have held a knife to someones throat, I have basically done most 'wrong' things that one can do - and yet, what I have learnt is that I would actually rather be at home on the computer on Y!A or Christian Forums or reading up on Religious Tolerance.org or Bible Gateway. I would really prefer to be leaning than partying - and that is the voice of experience speaking.

It makes me wonder why you would ask such an insulting question. In effect, you are saying that we have no morals. I can guarantee you, that we do have morals, and probably more than you do. Everyone has their own standards, but I was never a person who was always out for just a good time. I see nothing wrong with having fun, but my idea of fun is not what you call SIN. Some do love gambling, just like some of your group. I personally am totally bored with gambling. I hate Bingo...BORING! I like to talk and laugh too much. Life is for love, joy, adventure, good work and learning. Then you die, yes, that is a fact. No one can avoid death. What is that last comment about..."eyes closed & our legs closed"? I'm a married woman and I definitey do not keep my legs closed. You have a very dirty mind.

I believe we are here for a good time but it depends what your definition of a good time is.
1 Who said everything is a sin?
2 Catholics are not the only faith and in my faith we don't drink alcohol so.......
3 Gambling? Again we are not all catholics and if they "love gambling" how does that affect all other faiths?
4 Which faith says keep your eyes and legs closed? Is not gods beauty all around for us to enjoy and "have fun with"? And i know that "religious people" have children so where is the legs closed thing in faith there? There is "fun" within marriage and faith you know?
If all your fun revolves around getting drunk and sleeping around then no one is stopping you are they? If i choose to be sober and monogamous to my husband than means i am blind and without desires or feeling? Sorry but life is not black and white like that and neither is faith. You say tomatoes i say tomatoes.....

We are here to do the best we can, some believe their best is attaching themselves to a "father figure" hint the sky-god. they believe with this holding of the hand they can acomplish and be better at life. I dont' believe in god, I believe in commonsense, i want to think for myself and I dont' need any help with my life decisions. noone wants their child to be brung up poor, but sometimes its your choice that makes your child poor. Perhaps you dropped out of highschool, why? Well that fun you had got your pregnant. This is not a uncommon thing, especially in todays society, my sister got pregnant at 15 and today has 3 kids, thankfully she is still with same guy...not sure if thats agood thing or bad, but they both quit high school, and their job choices is limited. So what do you think the chances for their child is going to be? college funds are not avaliable, all their minimum wages goes to car payments, houseing, bills, food etc. there is no savings.
Im just putting some commonsense out there, as reality. You are here to have fun, but remember that not all is fun and games, theres times to be serious as well. Everyone will die, that is guaranteed, when is the unknown. So live life as their is no tommorrow but safe enough that your not going to regret your decision if it wasn't your time to go just yet.
you could also live by my philosophy, id rather regret somethign i did do than something i didn't.

I'm right there with you, AussieGirl. In the 60's they used to say "if it feels good, do it." I think that's a great philosophy.
I was taught as a teen that most everything outside of church was sinful, and I missed a lot for that reason (not only fun, but friends, respect, a good college education, career choices, jobs, etc.). Unfortunately I bought into all the religious guilt that was drilled into me by well meaning Christians, and I regret it now. I didn't wake up to reality until my 30's.
I wish I had been taught that lesson when I was younger, but with the little addition, "if it feels good, and doesn't hurt anyone, do it." Unfortunately, because of family reasons & constraints it is much too late now for me to practice that philosophy the way I wish I would have. I still have fun, a great wife and wonderful kids that I'm very proud of. But oh, the things I've missed! Thanks a lot, Pastor Shaeffer...
ADDED: I have a couple of additional thoughts after reading some of the other answers. First, those who talked about responsibility were certainly right. We should be able to have fun, but of course do so responsibly. And as one person cleverly and wisely pointed out, life is not all play. Nor is it all about our own selves. Besides working, we need to be helping others & contributing to society, not necessarily in a church, though that can be one way to do so.
And some said, or implied, that they "saved themselves for marriage" and were happy that they did so. Good for them. But some said you, AussieGirl, were irresponsible for suggesting sex outside of marriage. I disagree. Of course you have to practice sex safely and responsibly, regardless of your age or marital status. And you were accused of inciting sinful, immoral behaviour. Again I disagree. I'd submit that it is not people like you who enjoy life that are trying to force their opinions and morals on others. Rather it is Christians and other religious people, many of whom are simply self-righteous, who strive to force their own beliefs and morals on others. Indeed, that's their calling. And sadly, in the US, they're even trying to do so by stifling information, stopping sex education (yeah, that'll help, to have our kids ignorant about sex), changing laws, and even trying to amend our Constitution.
One should look both ways before throwing stones.

Alcohol as an inebriant has been around for a long, long time and well predates the Catholics. The earliest written texts mention wine.

catholism began as a means of conquering the world... sin is a means of control... they want to control who multiplies that is why no birth control wanting catholics to outnumber the rest of us... catholics are the for runners in our understanding of god... they've been around for almost 2000 yrs, killing anything in their wake who opposes them until only their information is used as the standard of understanding... the catholics didn't create alcohol... they just want you to think they did as they would take credit or give credit to their god for all the things we enjoy in life... two things happened while the catholics were busy controling information... humans evolved into something smarter hopefully smart enough to see the evidence.... not scientifically that's not where the battle will be one but historically.... following the evidence left behind by the church in it's domination of the world... beginning with Julius Ceasar, who called himself god along with other leaders of his era..the paths of (or evolution and effect of) the bible, latin , the war and murders of anyone opposing the church... the manipulation of information, misleading people from understanding spirituality and nature...... god is none other than the pope in today's world, that is how the church meant for it to be.... and this pope was a nazi..... so before we loose anything else to this destructive, powerful force we have to stop catering to it if we are to ever be free again.

Honestly, I am having the time of my life. Nothing is more rewarding than a genuine relationship with God. I tried all the other stuff and it was good for a moment but would soon leave me still empty and unfulfilled. Let Jesus Christ in and see what I mean.

It pains me to see people throwing away their "life in the flesh" for their "Life in the spirit". The only good part, is they will never know they waisted there lives. I doubt they'll know much of anything when they have passed. Some people are so afraid of death they will believe anything to avoid it.
