It could be anyone, someone important for world history, a regular person from another time, a relative, a celebrity, anyone!
What would you like to ask that person or what would you like to talk about?

that God drowned in the flood?

She really only told us about the boat and the rainbow. But she never mentioned all the rotting corpses.

"Religion says the existence of God can be proved; the agnostic says it cant be proved; and the atheist claims proof of the nonexistence of God. Obviously, the dilemma of the wanderer from faith is that of profound confusion. He thinks himself lost to the comfort of any conviction at all. He cannot attain in even a small degree the assurance of the believer, the agnostic, or the atheist. He is the bewildered one."
(Taken from '12 Steps and 12 Trad.)

If youve felt like this before and found a solution to the dilemma, what was it?

The LDS church never discriminated against any race, nor did we ever break any civil rights laws. So, how could anyone say that theh government could take away our tax exempt status?

They could easily do it because the church does not ordain women into their priestshood. The Catholics, too. But I don't see them making any moves along those lines. Or because of our stand on active homosexuals.

I wish those who claim that the government forced us to give blacks the priesthood would either put up or shut up.

I grew up being in a Catholic family (I am 13 now) . I know the difference between the two .. and I find myself beliving in Christianity MUCH more than Catholic . I have told my mother that I would much rather be Christian, but she wants me to still be Catholic . I even go to a Christian camp during the summer, so I think that is what is making me want to join a Christian church/youth group . Any advice on how I can convince my mother to let me become more Christian than Catholic ?

I baptized as a Catholic when I was like 8 or 9. Now I'm 18 but I baptized into another religion. I would like to know how do you do to remove your name of the list. I don't really mind that my name is there, but I guess if it could cause some misunderstandings, etc.. because I am no longer Catholic, but I still have a lot of respect and love for the Catholic church because I grew up there.

Here is the story.

A short time ago, a person was killed as a direct result of unloading my companys product from a truck. The person made a fatal error in judgement while unstrapping the load and it fell on them. I know it isn't my fault or anything but I am the last person to have inspected load and strapped it in before it left. Now, after doing some research, I unfortunately found out who the person was , what they looked like and that they had a family and how much they were loved by so many friends and family. I'm just sick about it and can't get it out of my mind. I'm just asking for advice how to overcome this guilt?
And I also ask for prayers for their family....and prayers for me.
Thank you.

Also, what if i never got my confirmation, is that a big deal? And if it is how could i get confirmed into the church pretty quickly? would i have to get a barmitzfa (srry bout spelling) and would it take long, would i have to learn how to read and all that, and would they have to circumsize me (if i already have been)?

Please answer all questions and sorry that my questions aren't organized very well, thanks in advance.

God is loving, merciful and forgiving to everyone, right?

Why then, is 'the wrath of God' referred to in the Bible so many times?
Surely wrath is born of anger, and to suffer the wrath of God would mean that he is to punish the person.

Is that not an act of vengeance? And is vengeance not the exact opposite of forgiveness?

I've been having a lot of trouble with intruders lately. I've tried various security measures, barbed wire, pit-bulls ( they were all poisoned) and even a flock of geese. Still these idiots keep tresspassing on my property and even crapped in my yard last night. I'm going to have to employ a more effective deterrent and thought a tethered rhino would do the trick. Where can I buy one please?

(I'm somehwere on borderline between God-belief and non-belief in supernatural stuff)

Q. What is your opinion on the power of faith?

You may call it God, Jesus, Allah, Buddha or heck, even a box of condoms if that is your "religion"- the important thing is the amount of faith you may have on that particular entity.

Fact remains faith does work very positively on most people which you cannot deny; patients in coma have been known to spring back due to the faith in prayers, prisoners in foreign jails have prayed for hope and sustained torture and abuse.

In fact, hope is the reason so many people are able to weather life-threatening crisis events. Hope indeed is a positive life-force and there are OCCASIONS, when human beings feel powerless against the system, the law, everyday responsibilities.

Since atheism is mostly about "lack of belief" in a higher power, isn't it selling "hopelessness" and in situations described above, make the going pretty tough already.
