Pessimistic is an adjective from the noun pessimism. It means to look at things from the most negative point of view.

You always see the bad side of things. Like if you get caught in the rain, you get angry because your clothes get wet, etc.

The opposite is an optimist, where you see the good side of things, like that rain will bring water to all the plants, and it'll make the day cooler
