Not interested in which version matches your particular beliefs most closely, but which best translate the literal and cultural meaning of the original texts.

Thanks!

The best version of the Bible that I have found is The Life Application Bible ~ New International Version. It has commentary on each page to explain what the scriptures mean in easy-to-understand language.

Don't believe it when people tell you that the King James Version is the best. Every single person who has tried to push the KJV in my face has misinterpreted the scriptures. I just don't understand those KJV only people.

The Bible I recommended was put together by over a hundred Bible scholars. Don't let anyone tell you it's not a reliable Bible. I've been studying it for years and it has helped me a lot.

As for the other book you mention, I know nothing about it.

Being the Catholic Church compiled the bible . I believe the New American Bible is one of the most complete Bibles there is today. Protestant bibles such as King James and The Jehovah Witnesses bible the New World Translations have either left out 7 complete books or changed the text of the Bible to fit with their religion. The NAB bible is complete

It depends on what translations. For example your translation? Or a professional?
But I chose the Quraan :)
