this man was born to hired labourers in a little town in Guatemala. His father earned about $10 a day, and managed to give him a good education. Perseverance and hard work took him to where he is now, the president of the National Coffee Association in his country. He just comes to show that with hard work, you do not need to migrate to be someone. Now, the members of the Rotary Club International want to make a ceremony in his honor. Something special you can suggest?

Possibly the Human Race came from another planet to save their race or possibly as a punishment(remember that other universal societies would be much more technologiclly advanced). And after they saw how things were on the world decided they had to act so they sent Jesus to teach us morals so we would not live so violently as we were. Sounds to make a lot more sense than the Bible.

And then block anyone who gives and intelligent answer that you do not agree with?

Does thet mean thet the WBTS did not have the TRUTH before the latest teaching changes, or Does it mean they had the TRUTH before the changes and have lost the TRUTH, and if they make a change in the future, doesn't it mean that they don't have the TRUTH now?

Am Christian myself but my mom has said many times there going to hell and plus they worship Mary and other saints who are not God. But to me I noticed that we mainly believe in the samething. But its very confusing plus she says look how they sin and take little boys....you know. But to me I feel am the only following the bible really because I see many Christians sin and mess up too.

Does it say anywhere in the bible about Catholics?

Why if atheists feel they know the undisputed truth Do they feel their theory needs defending? I don't waste a lot of time trying to disprove something I don't believe is real. That's a little nonsensical.I make up my own mind and don't concern myself with what others believe.Yes, I'll listen to their opinion and state my views, but I don't feel the need to disprove what they feel the truth is.

I am seriosly thinking about it currently. I was raised catholic but was involved with evangelical churches for around 20 years.

I just find now that the more I read about church history, the more I pray about it and the more I hear about the catholic faith that it might be the right way for me.

I do believe protestants can be saved but the more I think, remember, reason the more I realise that that faith is limited and doesnt hold the full truth.

I am still unsure because I hold in high regard a number of leaders, Billy Graham, John Wimber, and I dont want to think those people were completly wrong. That would be silly.

Yet I logicaly can prove that the bible cannot be the only revelation of God and with many evangelicals believing only that I find it stupid. (If you step out of the group you do find the same).

Dont bother me with details about mary, purgetory etc, read www.catholic.com and you will see they are far cleverer than you.

Serious answers only!

The only way to Heaven according to the majority of the Christians is following the path of Jesus. Is this place exclusive for Christians? What about the rest of the good people in this world.

THIS IS WHY: Christians please read...

The theory of evolution postulates that the earth and the universe came into existence slowly over eons of time, or that the universe has always existed. The atheist astronomer Carl Sagan once stated that, "the Cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be." However that simply is not true! Studies in cosmology have demonstrated in recent years that there was a time when the cosmos did not exist—that it had a beginning at a specific point in time. This is exactly what the Bible states. In Genesis 1:1 we read: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Both the Bible and the discoveries of science clearly indicate that the earth and the universe have not always existed.

Astronomers studying galactic motion have observed that the universe is expanding outward from a given point, but at a decreasing rate of speed. The universe appears to have begun with a large explosion.

Satan is a Christian

Think about it. He believes that Jesus died for humankinds sins. He believes in the ressurection of Jesus. He believes in Heaven and Hell. He even tried to trick Jesus so that God's plan would fail. How is he not Christian? Remeber that to be a Christian you are defind by your beliefs and not your actions.

Christians did you realize that you are the same faith as your most feared enemy?

Solve this problem for me about prayer?
Most prayers, apart from prayers for peoples health, involve affecting free will in some manner (for example if I pray for a job, go to an interview, do my best - a prayer to God that you get that job would be asking God to bend the ear and will of the man with the power to hire you)(if you pray for the return of missing children God has to bend the free will of the one who abducted them
BUT you all keep saying God gives us all free will, he can't interfere with that in any way.
So logically prayer is useless - if God wants to help he can't

With a bowl full of Strawberries, Cherries and leechees. Sitting there in the nicest weather, forgeting about all the fundies you have encountered. Just giving your analytic mind a break and enjoying the silence of your inner soul while eating the fruits. Taking few deep breaths. Letting the Love out that you are a representive of God on earth.
It doesnt matter if you dont understand him but yet he understands you. Its okay if you dont long for him, he still longs for you. Verily the compassion of God is beyond anything, dont try to understand him all with the senses and the brain you have that he blessed you with. Feel him inside your heart and let the Love out. Oh, my Question is Will you give your analytic mind a break, take few deep breaths and forgive us fundies for our judgements and lack of respect towards humanity and Visit the lake with the bowl of fruits?.....:)

Posting this on R&S because this is where I find the most lively discussions.

I'd really like to have an intellectual discourse with some R&S folks but the "ask a question and wait for the answer" structure doesn't seem suited for that. For example, if I ask a question and get a response to which I in turn want to respond this is difficult. My only real option is to post "details" and address them to that individual and hope they're still around.

I know Y!A is an "answers" forum, not a debate forum but I don't know of a better alternative that brings people of all beliefs together like this one does.

Just curious if anyone else in R&S feels this way...

(Alternatively, I would be happy for someone to point me to an R&S discussion forum where a large number of faiths are represented.)

I say there is a God right like you may say the wind done somesort of dammage. How can you prove there is wind you cant c it. Well i cant see God but I can feel him in my heart, with a gental voice that lets me know the rights from the wrong.Love for mankind is the love of God. And the Bible is not just another book there have been events that prove the bible is true. You know that they have found Noahs Ark right, Explane that one!!!What about the ark of the covenate that is found things that were wrote about many years ago. And all the logic in the world will not save the sinner from the wrath of God.So when we all stand before the judgement seat of Christ what then? What will be the excuse you us to try to save yourself? There wont be one for you r hearing the truthright now. So repent and be saved, Hell is not a place that you want to spend eternity. You can believe or not,I do believe and if this is true, and it is I have nothing to lose.Whats wrong with living a blessed life?

I have! When I was a Christian I memorized my bible, as a matter of fact I still have over 40+ copies of the bible and read it every morning. As a Muslim I am attempting to do the same. I have read the Quran about 20+ times or more since I lost count already and I am attempting to understand and memorize my book (the Quran to me is the most amazing book in the world) Even young children can memorize the whole book and then be taught the meaning hidden within. Every time I read the Quran I find something new :) it so so amazing! Anyway this question is about you, not me!!!

Have you ever read: The Analects, The Bhagavad Gita, al-Qur'an, The bible, The Talmud , Tao-te-ching, Upanishads or the Vedas... Sorry if I missed any books guys these are from the top of my head :)

Thanks so much for your kind answers my friends,
A.M

I want your opinion, but some of you are too religious. You cannot answer a simple question without writing three paragraphs. Use wisdom, and give me an answer. If it is long, I am going to hide it before reading because I feel as if that person is not in the Spirit for which I seek. You do not have to be a Christian to answer. My best answers are usually from non- Christian because they keep it real. The bible does say "The children of this world are wiser than the children of light."
