Some people like simple ways to identify things. If it is a snake it is venomous. If the person is old then the person cannot drive. If the person is of a different race then that person is not to be trusted. If the person wears black then that person is emo or goth. These are just some of the bad rationalizations that people will make becaue they do not want to actually figure out what is going on.

Some people march to the beat of a different drum. Some people will actually embrace individuality and be unique. They are usually ostracized. It is funny. We live in a society that tells everyone to be unique but will punish those that stray from the norm.

No, it doesn't. Black is stylish, sometimes elegant, and let's face it, it's all over the stores. It doesn't show dirt, and somehow never looks as wrinkled as white does. Aren't men's tuxedos always back? Does carrying a black briefcase make a business man/women goth? How about people who drive black cars? As for the nails and hair, hey it's only paint. I have short spikey hair, secretly want a red streak in it, and I'm a corporate type (ahem, dare I say this...) in my 50's. I have a closet full of black clothes that I wear with everything. It's my wardrobe staple.

No. You don't seem very emo or goth anyways. Having only two black shirts, painting your nails black for Halloween, and dying your hair black for "crazy hair day" because you couldn't get another color doesn't make you emo or goth. I've seen plenty of preps, jocks, nerds, etc. do those things.
If anyone thinks that it does, they obviously don't know much about subcultures or stereotypes.

properly initially, to state the glaring, goth and emo human beings positioned on a ton of black. i think of black nailpolish directly getting written off as goth or emo comes from the reality that the only time directly adult adult males positioned on nailpolish is on a dare or the nailpolish is black and that's simply by fact they're goth or emo or something like that. no longer directly that rule then have been given carried over to women. it is kinda stupid simply by fact that on an analogous time as sure, emo and goth women do many times positioned on black nailpolish, a lot of non emo and goth women do too. i think of its style of cool as lengthy as ur no longer donning a black the suitable option (simply by fact then u would be doubly directly written off as goth or emo).

Not at all! Thats just your favorite color! Goth and emo take on their own ways. Wearing black is just another part of it. Goth is more liking dark stuff, dark poetry, ect. Emo is emotional. Thats where you show more of a sad emotion. Its in the personality.

there is SOOOOOOO much more to goth than hair and clothes. the long and short of it is no, this does not make you goth. if your mom looked beyond stereotypes and found out what goth really was, she wouldnt be worried. your fine, relax. parents are always a little weird about their kids clothing choices.

According to the Cognitive Behavioral theory, the choice of colors says a lot about the people who wear them. People who wear a lot of black, for example, are typically stubborn and hard-headed. (More than half of my wardrobe is black, excluding work denims.)

Bullshit! And there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being emo! I love black...it's stylish and can be worn anywhere, anytime... your mother is just worried...the more you wear black and act normal she will adjust and it wont be an issue anymore...these days my own mother would especially check if she sees something nice, if it comes in black...black rocks!
