It means "hunter." In Spanish, it's spelled "cazador."

OK... so you know what it means in Spanish if you write it with a "z"... cazador... hunter...
However, CASADOR in Catalan (Cataluña, Spain) means marriageable, nubile, single.
The verb CASAR, means TO MARRY...
In Spanish, casador would be casadero.

Hope this helps... I advise you to highlight the language from which a word comes from before you post it... that may be helpful. ;o)

Spanish, which is a Romance language, has the words "casa" meaning house, and "oro" meaning gold. Casador might mean "house of gold".

The romance languages are all related closely as they are descended from one parent, which is Latin, so the word could be French or Italian as well. It could also be idiomatic, meaning something like "foundry" or "jeweller".

It would help if you posted the language.

I assume that you are interested in the surname, hence the spelling. Both the answers that offer "hunter" and "house of gold" are correct. If your family is descended from Spanish origins it is likely to be the first, if your ancestors were Italian then it is the second.
It is not French, and "hunter" is "cacciatore" in Italian. Casa d'oro is often abbreviated to Casa d'or' both in Italian and in Spanish.

Ít's "cazador" and it's Spanish for "hunter".
A story I read was entitled "El cazador cazado".
That's "The hunter hunted".
