Now, admit it--sometimes you're at work, and your boss isn't around, and work isn't fun.....so...you go on Yahoo! Answers. Go ahead, admit it!

But what do Yahoo! employees do? It would be a bit strange if they actually went on their own company's site for entertainment. Sometimes, I wonder if they don't sit there in their swivelly chairs (yes, swivelly IS a technical term!) and watch questions and answers unfold in R&S.

Do you think this is a possibility? Could WE be entertaining them?

This second file I'll lay on the table is a HISTORY OF WICCA IN ENGLAND: 1939 - present day circa [1991]
This talk was given by Julia Phillips at the Wiccan Conference
in Canberra, 1991. It is mainly about the early days of the
Wicca in England; specifically what we now call Gardnerian and Alexandrian traditions. The text remains "as given", so please remember when you read it that it was never intended to be "read", but "heard" and debated.

If this history would be of use to you, send me an Answers e-mail with an e-mail address to which I can attach the file. The file is too many characters to post on Answers.

If there is enough interest I'll continure to modernize more files and put up questions as to who might want them. No, there are no strings attached. This kind of thing goes with being an Elder and Librarian of the Lore

I am all about people having privacy especially when they are entertaining guests, but this is an awkward situation. My neighbor's next door moved in about 6 months ago. I speak with them all of the time, our kids play, and we see them all of the time. They also talk to 2 other people on our street that they have made friends with. We are friends with one of the couples...the other we are just accquaintences with. We have had them over for dinner not to long ago, they showed up late and didn't seem appreciative. The other evening we were out having dinner as a family on our deck and they had the 2 couples over for dinner(right next door so of course we noticed), no invite to us and they don't like anyone else on the street. I am offended and have hurt feelings, I also see this as they must not like us even though they act like it. How awkward. What is the etiquitte of dealing with this situation?

The Christian poster's on Answers are so full of hate toward Islam? Every poster seems to say how wrong and evil it is, that it is lies, etc. Contrary to this, I have yet to find a Muslim poster who say's anything derogatory or negative about Christianity, and calmly explains aspects of their faith without taking the bait. Seems to me to be contrary to the idea that Islam is an inherently violent religion, and the truly violent are those Christian's who write so negatively about it! Could the anger stem from the growth of Islam in the world and the decline of Christianity in it's traditional areas of Europe and the Americas?

I've often wonder why we are alive, why we are here...whats the point almost. of course no one knows the answer, what do you think? If we know we are going to die eventually as we all do, why do we spend so much time on the superfluous events and minor problems in our lives

I often think, wow...I need to just be a good person, I want to make a difference, but cannot help falling under the trap of insignificance...focusing on things that don't really matter

How do you justify simple pleasures to yourself in the big scheme of things that don't really seem to make a difference

I am just curious as to what others have to say

no, God doesn't forgive all sins, consider (Isaiah 1:11-15) . . .. “I have had enough of whole burnt offerings of rams and the fat of well-fed animals; and in the blood of young bulls and male lambs and he-goats I have taken no delight. 12 When YOU people keep coming in to see my face, who is it that has required this from YOUR hand, to trample my courtyards? 13 Stop bringing in any more valueless grain offerings. Incense—it is something detestable to me. New moon and sabbath, the calling of a convention—I cannot put up with the [use of] uncanny power along with the solemn assembly. 14 YOUR new moons and YOUR festal seasons my soul has hated. To me they have become a burden; I have become tired of bearing [them]. 15 And when YOU spread out YOUR palms, I hide my eyes from YOU. (Even though YOU make many prayers, I am not listening;) with bloodshed YOUR very hands have become filled. notice he doesn't even hear all prayers

who said they should, the original believers created tradition and other guidance, this later became the catholic church (about 5 years)

now the catholics put the bible together and the protestants accepted the bible on the good testimony of catholics.

So why only accept one thing.

sounds like picking and choosing. the bible clearl isint the only authority and never claimed to be.

Have you noticed in life, that distractions come into your life all the time from other people? Or is this just because I finally realized my goals in life, and I am focused on them, and now I see clearly, what people are not adding to my life?

If it is true, as the Bible states, that God's desire is that none should perish, but that all should have eternal life, then why does it seem so difficult at times to understand the Bible and why are most prayers answered with "no", and why does God seem so distant most of the time?

My friend is belisian or whatever, and she talks like that too and I asked her why and she said it had something to do with white people and some other stuff like her people or whatever didn't want white people to know what they were talking about and so they started talking like that, you know, like with the words all switched around....., and that's when I started zoning out because I was tired and fell asleep and I woke up like 10 minutes later and she was just saying do you get it now? and I was like yeah.,......., but I am just wondering what she was saying?? Does anybody know the history?

I'm mediocre a giving presentations, but I have to work with someone who's socially inept. I can't even understand him when he's speaking to me one-on-one in normal conversation because of a strong lack of confidence and jargoning. It feels impossible to bring him up to speed. Today I had to give a practice speech among my co-workers, and it was obvious to everyone that I was doing everything. Sometimes my partner gets nervous and says things that contradict me, he didn't mean it, he was just nervous and blurted it out to make noise as if he's giving a useful speech. What would you do? Would you tell you're manager that it's not working? Solutions?
