This second file I'll lay on the table is a HISTORY OF WICCA IN ENGLAND: 1939 - present day circa [1991]
This talk was given by Julia Phillips at the Wiccan Conference
in Canberra, 1991. It is mainly about the early days of the
Wicca in England; specifically what we now call Gardnerian and Alexandrian traditions. The text remains "as given", so please remember when you read it that it was never intended to be "read", but "heard" and debated.

If this history would be of use to you, send me an Answers e-mail with an e-mail address to which I can attach the file. The file is too many characters to post on Answers.

If there is enough interest I'll continure to modernize more files and put up questions as to who might want them. No, there are no strings attached. This kind of thing goes with being an Elder and Librarian of the Lore

Click on my avatar and check my "fans." That's all I can say. You would be surprised at how careful I am with these files--I have about 20, 000. It's your choice, but please don't scare away those that might wish to avail themselves of these files.

I've been giving that file to folks off and on since 92. I didn't even realize it was still around on sites. Getting old is bad, but it can be mighty inconvenient at times.

That is an old one.
I do find the date that she describes as arbitrary as very arbitrary, but only because I've had the luxury of being acquainted with a woman who Gardner most assuredly tried to impress in the 1940s, and, according to her diary, he didn't mention Witchcraft to her, while mentioning a whole slew of other "here be impressed" type things. Serving as an archivist is a beautiful thing. :)
Yes, it's hearsay and proves nothing, but that, coupled with other sources that are publicly available, leads me to believe his witchcraft was a POST OTO thing for him.
It's funny you should post this, as I had searched for it online only a few days ago, because this young thing locally insisted to me that NO ONE was discussing the history of Wicca before 2000 or so.... feh.

Unfortunately, I'm sure your intentions are good, but with the risks of computer viruses, info exchange, and stalking, I'm sure many people are going to pass your offer. You are, after all, unknown to them and I sure you wouldn't be waisting your time posting here if you were going to be malicious but personally, I wouldn't take the risk. Some of these things, after all, can happen by accident!

Maybe you should post what you've found on geocities? Then folks could look at it without having to do the personal thing.

Excellent job but downloading an unknown file from an unknown person is a bit risky. Unfortunately that is the way of the web. But thanks for the work. Perhaps you can post the site???

Thanks for the info. I googled your reference and found it to be legitimate. To those interested, here's one of many websites where you can read the referenced text:
