If it is true, as the Bible states, that God's desire is that none should perish, but that all should have eternal life, then why does it seem so difficult at times to understand the Bible and why are most prayers answered with "no", and why does God seem so distant most of the time?

God isn't distant if you have a true relationship with Him. Pray and seek Him and really believe that He will move for you, and He will show Himself to you. Most prayers are seemingly answered with a "no" because you are praying for what you want when God's plan may be something totally different. God sees the big picture of it all, and maybe he sees a reason to answer "no" that is actually the best things for you. You never know. God bless!

Out of his office. He'll be back in five. If you have any questions, leave them with the secretary.

No, seriously, the great Spirit is all around us, in everything that exists. All things are God, and God is all things. You are a God, as am I. All life is holy and should be respected.

God has a name Jehovah, he is a person (not a human person) & he lives in the heavens
(Hebrews 9:24) . . .For Christ entered, not into a holy place made with hands, which is a copy of the reality, but into heaven itself, now to appear before the person of God for us.

(Daniel 7:9-10) 9 “I kept on beholding until there were thrones placed and the Ancient of Days sat down. His clothing was white just like snow, and the hair of his head was like clean wool. His throne was flames of fire; its wheels were a burning fire. 10 There was a stream of fire flowing and going out from before him. There were a thousand thousands that kept ministering to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand that kept standing right before him. The Court took its seat, and there were books that were opened.

yes God is merciful & does not want any to be destroyed, but he knows that most of humanity either reject him or worship in a way athat he does not approve of

(James 4:4) 4 Adulteresses, do YOU not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God. . .

(Hebrews 10:26) 26 For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left. . .

(Matthew 7:21-23) 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

(Matthew 7:13-14) 13 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.

Perpetual skepticism makes the bible difficult to understand.

Without enduring faith, prayer never even reaches God's ears.

God seems more distant to the person who, time and time again, chooses to run away from Him.

True faith endures, even when it seems foolish. I guess that answers your question.

God exists in the imaginations of believers, really.

God is everywhere.
About the "no" answer remember this:
If God answers you prayer he is increasing your faith;
If it takes awhile before he answers He is increasing your patience;
If He doesn't answer your prayer at all,
He knows you can handle it yourself.

"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."

Luke 11:9-10

Where is your heart when you are reading the Bible? or praying?:

"But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul."

Deuteronomy 4:29
