I have given this subject a lot of thought, since giving my heart to Christ. When I read the verse I went, 'What?' Why would my loving God do such a thing? And then I had a revelation, so to speak. I can only imagine what a sight it must have been. Fire and brimstone raining from the heaven's!!! My Lord... what an awesome and terrifying sight! Just by reading what the Word says about the debauchery that was occurring within the walls of Sodom and Gomorrah. It must have been so bad, for a loving God to burn the 2 cities right off the face of the earth. Why would you want to turn back and look? Shouldn't it have been enough to have been saved from the deafening roar that they must have heard behind them? [I would have been shittin my pants.]They were warned not to look back. Warned by the angels sent to destroy the cities. They knew that. She chose to disobey for whatever reason and the rest is history. Was she turned to salt because a part of her was still left in the city? She had to look back because she had to see with her own eyes the ruination of her home. I sometimes wonder if the heavens were filled with legions of heavens angels. Making sure nothing or no one escaped. Just like one germ multiplying into millions. She would have been a surviving witness to the history and destruction. One germ...

God doesn't cast spells! Satan does. Lot's wife was warned not to look back, but she did anyway, so that was the consequence of HER ACTION.
