The Christian poster's on Answers are so full of hate toward Islam? Every poster seems to say how wrong and evil it is, that it is lies, etc. Contrary to this, I have yet to find a Muslim poster who say's anything derogatory or negative about Christianity, and calmly explains aspects of their faith without taking the bait. Seems to me to be contrary to the idea that Islam is an inherently violent religion, and the truly violent are those Christian's who write so negatively about it! Could the anger stem from the growth of Islam in the world and the decline of Christianity in it's traditional areas of Europe and the Americas?

you mean you've never run into people calling Muhammed a baby-raper, violent, etc? are you not reading the same questions I am? Hey Ilhamiut, your faith is based on Judaism, should they talk the same way you do about Islam?

Looking at the first answer, I'd say that's an affirmative on your assessment.

Im a Christian and I've never said anything bad about the Islamic faith. I don't paint all of Islam with the same brush just because there are some brainwashed Muslim idiots that think that they will go to heaven if they make a plane crash killing everyone. I know for a fact that there are good Quran Muslims that don't like how Muslims are seen now that the Islamic extremists are on a terror rampage.Islam is truly a peaceful faith.

The anger stems from misunderstanding. Because we see constantly on the news and in the paper that terrorists are Islamic, we erroneously associate terrorism with Islamism. When you see on the news a video of a group of masked terrorists beheading someone while praising Allah and proclaiming their actions to be "godly," it does not help.
Islamic people need to get out the message that those who do these things are perverting Islam. I know some have tried, but clearly, they have to try harder. And they need to do more good works to show they are peaceful and loving people. How about seeing on the news a mosque which is providing breakfast and child care for underprivilged children in the inner city? How about seeing a group of Islamic men and/or women raising money for a non-Islamic charity? I could give countless examples. Most Americans do not know anyone who is Muslim. I think showing who you are by positive example is always the most effective way to raise consciousness and change minds.

The problem rest with Islam itself. The Koran outright says that Jesus says that he denies being God.
"When God asked Jesus, son of Mary "Did you tell men to consider you and your mother as their gods besides God?" he replied, "Glory be to you! How could I say what I have no right to say? Had I ever said it, You would have certainly known about it. You know what is in my soul, but I do not know what is in Yours. It is You who has absolute knowledge of the unseen." Koran 5:116
Now, I work with Islamic students who want to learn English. One student when coming across a reading about Martin Luther King Jr and found out that he was a Christian preacher who preached in a Church, flew into a rage and said, "Church is false, Christ is False." I don't want to hear the word 'Church' ever again in my presence."
If something comes up in class about the Christian religion it is denied right away forcefully to the point where you can't even complete the lesson. I'm not talking about preaching to them, I talking about everyday things that occur in what people read.
Just say the word "Jew" in their presence and you have an hour long conversation about how the Jews are into Money and all the old anti-semitic things.
The fault is in Islam. Islam has not taught its people tolerance. Other religions in muslim countries have to pay a Koran backed tax. Islam is supposed to have a great civilization, well where is it? Where was it? Islam is not tolerant!
There are Mosques being built in Europe and America, yet no Christian churches being built in Saudi Arabia. Don't give me the dictatorship thing, because those dictatorships grew up and were sanctioned by Islam.

Or perhaps the anger comes from watching Islamists rape, torture, and murder their way across the world during our lifetime. And the fact that there is only a one degree difference between a "moderate" Muslim and a "radical" Muslim. How else do you explain groups like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and the staggering silence from "moderate" Muslims who refuse to denounce their murderous brethren.

I've noticed it as well.
To me, it means the Muslims here are better at living up to the precepts of their religion than the vast majority of Christians, and I applaud you all for that.
Nor do I judge you by a small group of fanatics.

1. There's alot of "Christians" on Y!A who are just trolls. They only post on here to get a rise out of people. Ignore them and don't assume that they are real Christians.
2. There's a big difference between yelling at someone on a message board and suicide-bombing into a restaurant or marketplace packed with innocent people.
3. Christianity started out in peace and was only later perverted into violence under Constantine. Islam began in war and continues in war; Mohammed was a conqueror, Jesus a peacemaker.
4.. Christianity may be declining in Europe and America as you say, but it's exploding in many other parts of the globe. This isn't something to be feared.

A Muslim cannot say that Christianity is wrong because their very religion hinges on a book (Koran) copied from the Bible and from the Torah. However, a Christian can say something about Islam because it is anti-Christ by denying that Christ is God. As far as Islam growing, it has been going down-hill since Israel defeated them in 1976.

"If you suspect defection in a woman, take her to the sleeping place and beat her". That's straight out of the koran. Nonviolent religion, huh?
Look as hard as you can, you will never find any place in the Bible where God tells men to BEAT their wives.
Does that answer your question?
