Jesus was sent to Earth specifically to die for our sins, do I have that right? However.. it was regular men that killed him. And, furthermore, wasn't it men that didn't believe him? So, they weren't killing him for the sins of all humanity, they were killing him because they didn't believe in him, right? (this confuses me, because I thought God wanted men to believe in him..except he must have known we were going to react that way, because the whole reason Jesus came to the planet was to be killed.) So, is it true that in order for this whole plan to work, regular men had to murder Jesus?

I know I'm probably not writing this as best as it could be worded, but obviously I'm confused. Can anyone make this more clear to me? Can you see why I have a problem with this?

I had so much fun earlier this evening, next doors little grandaughter is sleeping at her Grandmas tonight. For some reason she has always liked to visit us too.
Personally I think the attraction is my biscuit tin, but that's another story!
Anyway it gets to her bedtime and I was watering my garden. I heard her little voice call me "Please open the gate and let me in, I need to hug you goodnight"
So thinking to myself how cute that was I open the gate.
Only to be faced with the biggest water pistol ever invented and she soaked me to the skin! lmao. I tried to run, but my arthritic hips don't allow me to move that fast.
I must have looked a sight walking back up the path with my dripping hair and wet clothes.
Some people might not have been to impressed if it had been them, but it was fun and never cost me a penny to hear the chuckles of a six year old.
So my question is. Would you have been cross with her?
I think you know my answer already!! lmao x

A post from a fundie

"Our basic belief of why homosexuality should be outlawed is because the God of the Bible destroyed two large cities (think of LA and Chicago put together and you get the magnitude of size) simply because the cities were founded with homosexuality. So if homosexuality becomes a legal thing, it would make heterosexuality a crime. Since heterosexuality has long been referred to as the "right, correct, and true way of marriage", ANYTHING that threatens to make what is "right" WRONG and things that are "wrong" RIGHT threatens the very morals that the fundamental Christian stand on. "

Wow...you fundies scare me with your Nazi mentality...you really are no better than the taliban....to outlaw homosexuality...geesh

Now I know your tempted to come in with something you memorised off a tract but listen.

The church flourished before the bible was written. It depended on tradtion and certainly other letters from the apostles and church leaders.

It took centuries for their to be agreement on what went into the bible and certainly the holy spirit inspired that.

However the oldest copies of the original books are centuries newer that the originals which no longer exist.

To determine the acuracy of these books you have to take the word of the Roman Catholic Church that preserved them. So in affect you have to hold as trustworthy the Catholic testimony that the bible is indeed acurate and that the Holy spirit guided the catholic church.

Seriously if you believe that the Bible is the the word of truth you have to ask where did it come from and the answer is the Catholic Church.

But then who is to interpret it. Most protestants disagree about the interpretation among themselves.

I understand that, for some of you, it is a matter of God branding homosexuality an abomination. So, you feel gay marriage is wrong. But do you, personally, have any feelings on the issue? Do you, personally, see anything wrong with gay marriage beyond the fact that God says it's wrong? Or would you not really care except for the Bible? Can you give any reasons beyond it being wrong according to the Bible for banning gay marriage?

I'm just curious.

If people go to hell for rejecting Jesus, why did the rich man go to hell? Jesus hadn't died yet so the old covenant would still be in place. I'm not a believer. I'm just curious of the interpretation.

Today I went into the Gents toilets at work by mistake - I'm new to the company and the toilets alternate - ladies 1st floor, gents 2nd floor. I usually work on the 1st floor but was on the 2nd for a meeting. As I came out of the cubicle a man came in and grinned at me - I was shocked that there was a man in the ladies. When I came out all the people in the canteen opposite were staring at me. I was too embarrassed to tell my colleagues - arrrrrrrrgh! Thinking about it now, it doesn't matter but I wondered if you had had similar embarrassing moments too bad to tell your nearest and dearest about?

Please give us more than Bible verses.

For the longest time you railed against the "homosexual lifestyle" because you said we were all promiscuous thugs.

Now, we want to get married and commit to each other and you tell us it threatens the santity of marriage...

So, isn't this double talk...you say we are promiscuous...we want to commit...but, you won't let us...what gives?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

...because he wanted to make humans, and have them worship him, enjoy his works, etc., why did he make 99.99% of the Universe unihabitable to us? And, no, I cannot accept "He works in mysterious ways" as an answer--too mythological. I also cannot accept "Who am I to question God" as an answer, because if He made us sentient beings, with the ability to question why He does what He does, why can't we use that ability--He surely would have seen questions like this coming, if He is all powerful and all knowing.

I am not an athiest or even an agnostic, and never have been. Just trying to find rational answers.

The Scripture verses state: "Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God."
