Neither, religion and politics is two different things. I hate the way Christians have tried to take over the republican party. Christians, atheist, and pagans and everyone else should be able to go to either party.
Trying to make the Republicans Christian and Democrats pagan scares the you know what out of me. I am pagan and other pagans are surprised when they find out I am republican. There are other pagan republicans and I know some some gays who are Republicans also. Party lines should not be drawn on religion or being gay.
Like I said all people regardless of race, color, Creed, religion, sex, or gay should be comfortable in either party.

You're absolutely right. Even jesus said to give to caesar what is caesar's and to God what is God's. Clearly, that's separating church and state. xtians don't go to a job interview carrying a bible and quote verses, and why not? Because you know you'd be seen as a loon and wouldn't get the job. You know that would be insane behavior yet xtians don't know that government is not church? Deli's do not run a church, law offices do not run a church, its a separate part of life - if everything was church, we'd be in a muslim nation. Besides, which denomination should it be? Who decides that? even born-againers don't agree. Before deciding for other people how to live, bring together the thousands of xtian denominations and agree on something - it can't be done. Since xtians aren't in agreement on how to live or even who is a proper xtian, is it right for one denomination to infringe on other denominations? Muslims in the mideast don't agree and war with each other, isn't that a good example of what xtian rule would do to this country? combining religion and politics can only open a can of worms and create the very thing that xtians fear. Wouldn't it be the ultimate irony if xtianity is the very false religion it fears? It does have all the markers for it.

I don't think Jesus if he were real would get involved in politics. I see Communism in the sharing but the ban on religion would have disturbed him. I don't see Republican because Jesus taught to take care of those in need. Remember the story with the loaves and fishes as well as many others? Also, the Bible quotes him as saying it will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of needle than a rich man to enter heaven. Republicans are about individual preservation of wealth and diminshed social programs. Also, although Jesus might advise or might have advised certain behaviors he would want I think people to have free will rather than legislate how people should live. I'll go with socialist since they are about equality and social justice.

Politics is of the world. While GOD sets up governments and tears them down the only government doing what GOD wants is the Vatican.
LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

I don't think Jesus was too concerned with politics, he seemed to be a little preoccupied with helping people...
