Do these folks just have it in for Mormons, or do they fight equally hard against all the other religions they disagree with?

If it's just the Mormons, why?

Don't feel to left out JW's are "picked" on a lot.

I feel the reason many people don't like you guys is because you do a lot of just strange things. For example Mormon's don't drink alcohol, don't have sex before marriage, wear strange underwear.... I think you get the point. People tend ridicule things which they don't understand. I don't understand your beliefs but i respect that you are so devoted to live them.

As a LDS (Mormon) i guess people tend to bash what they don't understand. There are many misconceptions about our beliefs and so that tends to create confusion.

When it is all said and done though, every belief system gets picked on a good bit in here.

I choose mormons specifically because I know about them, I know what they think, what they teach, how they react, etc. I insist on equal time for the other side of mormonism that the missionaries don't tell. When you claim to be #1, you better have more backup than just "nice".

It's all about full and complete disclosure of doctrine, it's history, and the probable expectation that it's all baloney. If you can't defend it, you shouldn't promote it.

Besides, these are the Last Days (again), and this has all been prophesized, so it proves that the church is correct, no?

No.

hello.

it is my general experience that when a person has a very bad experience with a particular church, they tend to remain highly critical of that church for sometime. I don't think it is specific to the mormons; I have had alot of bad experiences with the catholic church, so i tend to be very critical of them, from my personal experiences. Have likewise seen alot of criticism of churches of Christ and other denominations, good question.

Some do. According to "Christian Research Institute" and Hank Hannegraf, almost all Christians who don't believe as he does are cults. He's not a fan of most televangelists, either.

its because Mormonism has all the earmarks of a cult. plus, i used to get pretty pissed when i had missionaries knocking on my door first thing in the morning. If you are a church that does not knock on my bloody door and try to convince me as if i cant make my own choices, then i have no reason to dislike you.

There is a difference between the false teachings of a cult and churches disagreeing over the color of the carpet...

You don't want purple martian pee in the water supply...

false theology..

Christians as Christians must defend the pure water of truth from those who would put something funny in it that isn't right....

was that clear enough for you??

No. Of course not. ANY group that tries to pass off it's non-biblical, non-gospel beliefs as somehow being "Christian" are going to get the same treatment.
