Matthew 5 (KJV)
5:1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Do you think that the mentality that ''black is less'' stuck? I am not saying that’s true because I believe it isn’t and I’m African American myself but at times, I really think about the way the community is. Why do black women wear weave that is the texture of a white woman's hair? We are not born with hair like that. Do we see white women walking around with afro-like pony tails and wigs? No. Afro's are beautiful. Why do we feed into the belief that ''good'' hair is straight hair?
Why do rappers make our community look bad by continuing to glamorize negative lifestyles and ideas? Why do allot (NOT all) of people in the community call other black people ‘’white’’ because they really appreciate school and/or because they speak proper English etc. but then turn around and talk about how great people like Oprah are...
Do we not expect much out of ourselves or what? Where else could this natural lack of self-esteem in allot of us be coming from?

I know the bible says that salvation isn't by works but where does it say that you have to understand that or that you can't add anything to faith alone in order to be saved? As long as the main focus of their faith is christ, then why would a technicality like believing they had to go to church as well as have faith make them unsaved. Unlike groups like JWs who deliberately pervert the scriptures and deny the divinity of christ all together, some people belive in jesus and are just confused about scripture because some parts are ambiguous as to what is required and while it is implied, the exact phrase salvation by faith alone isn't really used in the bible, so it gets interpreted as being saved by adding works to faith.

My last 2 questions had the term Fundy, which is short slang for Fundamentalist.
As with much of the English language slang dictates and changes word meanings. 20 years ago bad meant bad and now in many conversations it is used to mean something is good.
Since the 9/11 attacks and the word "Islam fundamenatlism" became a hot media word...the word findamentalist has since evolved to something more sinister, more like someone who is a zealot.
Often new definitions start out slang. Right now if you look up fundamentalist in the urban dictionary you get some rather negative definitions.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fundamentalist
Which may not seem important now...but I think this is the start of a trend for future use of the word.
So what I am wondering is those who belong to a "Fundamentalist Church" do you think in the future the church will stray from that term (even though I know it has historical perspective) because it is becoming a negative word?

I would like to know what is would be considered: You don't care for religion / but you aren't spritiual / you believe in God / but don't go to church / you don't worship him (meaning that you don't pray, go to church, deliver his word to others or anything like that) / you feel that all religion isn't worth the hype / you don't believe in heaven, hell, purgatory, paradise or anything like that...

What is that? Is that a common things that people believe? What would you call that?

Here's something I've noted. When asked a spirtiual question that may question their religion christians resort to the bible. An example being "The bible says Jesus died for me and love me and that is how i know god is real". But if a question is asked that shows the bible to be false they will fall back on spiritual experiance. Exampling being "God has filled me spirtually so I feel him every day."
Why can't a question be answered on topic? If any chrisitan on here would really listen to the bible based questions and answers on here they would see that the bible is filled with contradictions, bigotry, and hate. I know all the chrisitans ill respond with "What contradicitons or bigotry" like they didn't read the hundreds of Q&As in the past that sited them. If you want to base your faith off of spiritual experiance why not do just that instead of subjecting your self to the title, dogma, and clear bigotry that is christianity?

I am taking a class on self defense for women and they talked about rape and also myths of rape. One myth that cam up was most white women get raped by white men, but the truth is most rapes occur within ones own race and ethnicity/background and the ones that do occur interracially, there are more black women raped by white men than white women raped by black men. I was really surprised by this so researched it, and it is actually true. Why does it seem that the media makes it seem like more Black men rape white women?? And also I read that Black women were least likely to report a rape if they were raped by White man, why do you think this is so?

If they move too quickly then we cant see them even with tools.
For example X rays are fast moving waves that we can see but galaxy waves are too fast

She was the most beautiful girl
But she hated herself, living in her two worlds
What do you think when you’ve been told your whole life
Half of you isn’t right
And you should have been born pure white?
So she’s drinking a lot
And she’s smoking a lot
And she controls herself
Glad you can’t read her thoughts
She tells herself she’s secure
But when it all stops
She’s grown into a world
Where she’ll never quite see
She’s such a beautiful girl

King James and the Hamptoncourt Conference came up with the King James Bible. It decided that 6 books were apocrophya. But did they have the authority to do this? The Roman Catholic Church accepted the 6 books because they have been ued in the Church in "venerable usage" over centuries, thus seeing the will of the Holy Spirit in the matter. But King James had a motive - to MAKE the new doctrines of protestantism true. Do you know that the King James Bible has over 10,000 errors, I'm talking the 1611 verion here, not reprints. The Pope is the Vicar of Christ, not the King. The King had no authority to throw out those six books even though they were printed in the original 1611 version as "apocrypha."
Protestant prejudice trully comes out in talking about this issue. Is the King James Bible the only true bible in English? Arrogance, pure arrogance. Did you know that the Puritans burned the King James Version saying it was from the devil? They had no right to remove them.

Is this because christians avoid questions that atheists know they can't give good answers to?
