Because the Bible didn't come with any fact guarantees. But nevertheless the Bible thumpers hide behind their precious little book when a good question like yours comes up. By the way, I am Christian, and I will admit that my faith is just that, faith. If asked questions, I will be proud to say I don't really know, cause the truth is I don't. Unless God has spoken to me, like he has to Bush, which he hasn't, that's just the way it is. Atheism is just as good as a faith as any. Yet a lot of Christians out there can't respect anyone elses religion and it puts fear into them that someone doesn't believe in DJ Jesus C.

They run because they have no answers. They only know what someone in a suit tells them every Sunday. They bible was written by man, so why trust it? There is a phrase "History is recorded by the winners", and that simply means that the real truth isn't always recorded. Do you think the bible would have mentioned Jesus if he didn't become a Martyr for the cause? What if he has just left the country and went elsewhere never to return? Do you think he would have been given the hype he is given today? I don't think so....
So why is it that the Christians can't answer questions like "Did Jesus really marry Mary Magedeline?" or "What proof do you have that heaven and hell are real?" or better yet "What proof do you personally have to show me without a doubt that God is real other than telling me to have faith?"
The answer is simple, they have no answer for your questions, no proof to actually give you good reason to believe in their old, outdated, and archaic religion. My suggestion is just believe how you want to believe and don't allow someone else to tell you are wrong if you don't believe you are.

I usually only answer questions based on my ability to answer the question. So, it really depends on the question. Questions like "prove God exists" are indeed hard as it is a matter of faith. God proves himself and you either believe or not. I cannot come along and prove it for you. I do not believe many today could do as the disciples and request a miracle and receive. Other questions tend to lean towards a science bias that science is infallible and we are already wrong because we cannot prove it in a scientific way and there for not really worth the time. Even this question was slanted towards your ego and bias that your questions are hard or even worthy of our time. The only reason why I answered today is because I am bored and no really significant question is in the line up.

Really Hard Question? Hey did anyone see a Really Hard Question around here?
Most of us, including myself, may at times feel ill equipped to effectively answer some of those really hard questions.
But then when we do give that good and fitting answer 2wks later someone else asks that very same question.
Or, we hurt their feelings. so they ask the same question to get a feel good answer.
Few people are able to be told "listen up, "look in the mirror, "The evidence does not support, and ( my personal favorite) "Look at what Jesus said and did.""
If you truly want answers Jesus is still in the business of Redeeming lives and healing the sick and broken hearted.

Most questions I will attempt to answer, BUT the problem I have is attempting to explain a spiritual experience to a person who hasn't experienced it... it's like beating a dead horse, and can become futile after a while, so I don't bother. You can't apply the same logic used to examine physical evidence to a spiritual experience. It's entirely limited.
Have a great one.

I don't avoid any question. If I do not know the answer, I am always happy to search for it, or discuss other peoples opinions and beliefs.

Cite some examples. And remember we can play that game too, where does SCIENCE SAY ALL THE MASS OF THE UNIVERSE CAME FROM.
I hate to tell you but science does a fancy song and dance on that one and chaulks it up to "ETERNAL" which always sounds a little religious to me!

Because, sadly, most Christians do not study their faith outside the context of Sunday School. They never read information that goes beyond, "Believe it because the Bible says so". But since the Bible is contradictory within itself about many things, that statement actually becomes, "Believe it because the selection of Bible verses we have chosen to prove it say so".

Religion is a drug. Aren't they blissfully doped up? Try taking a bottle from a drunk, a needle from a junkie. Can you teach someone who doesn't want to learn?
