Kissing the ring is respect or/and accept a the authority like the Pope or a bishop. Be gay or not gay, male or female does not matter.

Nobody expects you to do that unless you want to show respect to him.

The way I was raised, when a man sees a lady, he's supposed to get up off his fanny and kiss her hand. If the pope expects me, being a lady, to kneel and kiss his hand, then he's no gentleman, yeah?

Protected by Her Majesty's Navy, you say? Where do I sign up? I'm a yankee girl, would that pose a problem?

I am not sure about that I know the Queen went to see the pope, and I dont know if she done it. I think she had to cover her head but I am not sure Gerry McCann kissed the ring.

It would be better if you didnt mention that you were gay, kissed the ring then told him.

Just don't tell him your gay. Then after you've kissed the ring yell "You've just been kissed by a homosexual. Now you've got the gay popey." I'm pretty sure the catholics think gay is contagious.
