It is in no way a barrier to evolution.

And as for irreducible complexity, every single example of this I've seen put forward requires just 5 minutes research to find it explained beautifully through evolution.

Do these guys just accept what gets thrown at them in church, or do they just chose to read the wrong material when researching.

If they're looking for evidence of evolution, there's a mountain of it.

Do they just chose to ignore all the evidence around them for evolution, or are they scared of it?

Sometimes I wonder, were the three wise men Astrologers, that read the stars, and thus predicted the birth of the Christ. I know that the church deems astrology as the 'evil', but was it considered so at the time of the birth of christ? What if a wise man was considered that man that knew of the 'secrets' eg...of God, or maybe Astrology, or Spirits/Spirituality.....your thoughts?

On July 7 I got baptised as a Jehovah's Witness. That was the most wonderful thing that happened to me. I'm glad that now I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses (Isaiah 43:10).
What I'm asking you is to answer my question and to tell me when was that day.

Why are people still going to catholic church every sunday..

LOS ANGELES - Hundreds of people who claim they were abused by clergy affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles can expect to be paid more than $1 million each in a $660 million settlement of their lawsuits. The deal, by far the largest settlement in the church's sexual abuse scandal, was reached Saturday, said Ray Boucher, the lead plaintiff's attorney..

The settlements push the total amount paid out by the U.S. church since 1950 to more than $2 billion, with about a quarter of that coming from the Los Angeles archdiocese.

How is this possible?
How can parents allow kids to be alone with these kinds of people, they began recording keeping since 1950, I can just imagine how many centuries of abused children there are!

help me understand

Oh....and when you go to church today , hang on to your little boys.

Do animals have a sense of religion and spirituality? If not, why don't we live like animals? They seem to be more carefree and peaceful than us. I'm jealous.

Oh, and we are animals.

Then why didnt god ensure the bible was perfect?
Why are there so many translations and branches of Christianity? Why was a council of priests gathered by the roman emperor Constantine responsable for putting the bible together? Why are there different versions of Christs death found in the 4 gospels of the bible? Why did Jesus prefer the Jews to the Gentiles?

My point is; can salvation really be based upon belief in a story/book that is full of contradictions and a vast number of alterations?

Dont get me wrong I belief in Jesus. I think he was one of humanities greatest masters of compassion and wisdom.
But I also like to do a little bit of research. And when you study the history of Christianity you find out that the bible was mostly a compilation of writtings from different churches put together by a council led by a crazed Roman emperor. A council that later murdered thousands of "Heretic" becouse they believed differently. ie. Gnostics.

Evolution functions by the survival of the fittest. It would have been impossible for God to use evolution to create the world (prior to the fall of man) because there was no death in the world.

God created a perfect world without death and pain. Evolution (if it exists) would have come into play only after we were kicked out of the Garden and ramped up after the Great Flood.

What is your personal interpretation of the meaning of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Please don't 'lock on' to any particular religion or religious view, this tale predates Judaism by millenia, and thus both 'Christianity' and Islam, I would just like to hear what people think it means to acquire the 'knowledge' of 'Good' and 'Evil', what existed in proto-human minds about these two fundamental concepts before that knowledge arose, and what implications does that have for us now, in this moment ?

I just read that the church in LA is going to pay $660 Million dollars to sexually abused victums.
When is the Catholic Church going to wake up and let the clergy get married. Nuns and Priests are always involved in sex scandles and it's just not natural for men and women not to marry. God himself told Adam and Eve to Multiply and replentish the earth and Jesus Christ sanctified marriage to be between a man and a woman and that they should "cleave unto each other."
I think it's time for the Catholic Church to read the bible and do as it says. then all of this nonsense with priests and nuns will stop. What do you think?

Catholic means universial. The unversial church (or catholic) is comprised of all those who worship Christ as their Savior. Those who follow one bishop who claims primacy are no more 'catholic' than the rest of Christains (and I dare say a lot LESS 'catholic').

The history of the Han Chinese ethnic group is closely tied to that of China. Han Chinese trace their ancestry back to the Huaxia, people who lived along the Yellow River in northern China. The famous Chinese historian Sima Qian's Records of the Grand Historian dates the reign of the Yellow Emperor, the legendary ancestor of Han Chinese, to 2698 BCE to 2599 BCE.

Along the central reaches of the Yellow River were the Jiahu culture (7000 BCE to 6600 BCE), Yangshao culture (5000 BCE to 3000 BCE) and Longshan culture (3000 BCE to 2000 BCE). Along the lower reaches of the river were the Qingliangang culture (5400 BCE to 4000 BCE), the Dawenkou culture (4300 BCE to 2500 BCE), the Longshan culture (2500 BCE to 2000 BCE), and the Yueshi culture.

Strange, I bet they would have noticed if their world was flooded, yet not a peep. Also note their history extends past the traditional age of the earth as speculated on by young earth creationists.
