before it rings up any more compensation claims for sexually abused children. All well and good the compensation but what about the many lives ruined and for what exactly

Not my call as to when and if that is going to happen.

You do bring up an interesting point. Many claims have been made against that organization. Some have received compensation (as if money is really going to make it any better - except to pay for the counseling that they need). Most are not - or the funds are going to lawyers fees and the real victims are victims yet again.

I do know that many that blindly followed are taking more than a second look at what they are following because of the nightmare within the priesthood that has brought about so much harm to believers.

Wow, first of all do your research there is no more child abuse going on in the Catholic Church than in any other organization that includes children. It has been greatly publicized because those who did commit such a horrible act where in a very trusted position. You can't condemn the whole because of the evil acts of a few. If that were the case than America should cease to exist and so should many Protestant churches and the Boy Scouts for that matter.

Your observation is correct, Jackie; in fact, some dioceses have declared bankruptcy.

The church has professed holiness in the past while many priests had concubines and children. Now it is coming out that those who profess holiness and the ability to forgive sinners, are yet sinners themselves.

As for the Church closing, that is predicted in the Bible. That prophecy in Revelation 16:10 is still future, and will be something for you to anticipate because when you see it, greater deceptions and Satan will arrive as God.

Even the Catholic prophecies of Fatima and St. Malachy predict this great time of destruction as judgments come upon them.

Catholic analysts realize that these priests had problems with sexuality in puberty, and thus chose celibacy as a priest to suppress their deviant impulses--yet for many, as you know, their efforts were in vain.

Sorry, but Jesus said He would be with the Catholic Church until the end of time. Besides, the Catholic Church has now dealt with this problem within its clergy, but the problem remains just as prevalent among the clergy of other churches which have not yet taken such aggressive measures to deal with it. The Catholic Church doesn't have a monopoly on homosexuals. They exist in every cross section of men. (You do recognize that this is a homosexuality problem, not a pedophilia problem as the secular press likes to characterize it, right?) So maybe we should focus our attention where the problem still exists.

It amazes me how sinless you must be; for certainly you would not violate prohibitions in your own scriptures by daring to judge unless you were sinless yourselves; didn't Christ himself have something to say about that? And about those who throw stumbling blocks before others' paths? and milestones?

The animosity and willingness of some christians to lie about other christians has always amazed me; not so much the question, but some of the responses express such loathing and false witness that it makes this non-christian shudder.

Close the Roman church down before any more children are abused by wanton and sex-crazed priests.
