Actually, I would suggest you NOT to totally do this for yourself. The easiest way to begin to track down your past lives is to figure out where you are the most interested in history -- not because of the recent movies or what's in pop culture but what has interested you before and has stayed with you. What has always been on your mind? Has some timeframe stayed with you and has always fascinated you so that you've delved into it deeper? That would be the place to start. Once you've got an idea on where you might have been, then try going there if you can. Or research the newspapers of that area.
If the timeframe is very ancient then you may want to involve a pyschic in your area. You can find them by looking and trusting your own instincts. You'll know who to trust and who not to. Trust your gut feeling. You can have past life regressions -- and although these you'll have to pay for they may be of some worth to you.
Good luck. I'd start with the research first and build up. I love past lives. I have many myself and have found that most of us do, like layers of an onion or the petals of a rose expanding outward. Its fascinatingly beatiful or horrible depending on how one looks at it.

Dreams often reveal these things, if not dreams, then sometimes experiences, otherwise trivial matters can open the doors to past life memories.

If you are looking for a lot of answers to that question, you should post it in the religion and spirituality board.

edit: Riverotter has some very, very good points in her post on past life experiences, and her advice is excellent. Listen to her.

what is 'past life' but a dull reflection of our insignificant life today?
