The statistics say that 10 out of 10 people die. It’s true – we all have an appointment with death. A question each of us should ask is “What happens after I die?” The Bible says that God has a standard that he will judge you by on your appointed day of death. It’s called the Ten Commandments. Let’s see how you will do. Have you ever told a lie? (Including white lies and fibs) Have you ever stolen anything? (no matter the value) The third Commandment is “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain”. Have you ever used His name as a curse word to express disgust? The seventh Commandment is “You shall not commit adultery”, but Jesus said “If you look upon a woman to lust after her you’ve already committed adultery with her in your heart”. Have you ever looked at another person with lust or desire? If you said 'yes' to these four questions, then by your own admission you’re a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer-at-heart, and we’ve only looked at four of the Ten Commandments. On Judgment Day, if God were to judge you by those standards, would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to Heaven or Hell?

The Bible says that you would be guilty, that means hell. Know that God, the just judge of the universe, is also rich in mercy. He sent His Son Jesus to suffer and die on the cross on your behalf to take the punishment for your sins. He paid your fine with His life's blood. That means God can commute your death sentence. He can allow you to live because of what Jesus did on the cross. Through His death and resurrection, God can now dismiss your case. He can forgive your sins and allow you to live. So what must you do? You must repent - turn from your sins. Don't just confess your sins to God; confess and forsake them. Don't just believe in Jesus - trust in Him, like you would trust in a parachute to save you. You don't just believe in a parachute, you put your trust into it! That's what you must do with the savior.

Ok, here me out. Now, in the Bible, it says that Jesus will return one day to Earth, but NO ONE knows when EXECPT for God. Now, if that's true, then Satan doesn't know when he'll come back, right? Well, if Satan doesn't know, then he needs to have an antichrist every generation, right? Now, if that's all true, then do you think that maybe Hitler was an antichrist back then? Think about it, he was killing God's choosen people, and he was hoping for world domination.

Just give me a feed back on what you think on this little theory. Please give mature answers.

Sometimes it makes me want to avoid people who bring up this topic too much. As if I wouldn't want to get married to the right person, but it's really hard to find the right person. Or, they try to give advice like "try internet dating". Bleh! Particularly it makes me uncomfortable when they needle me about why I don't go for a certain male friend just because he's muscular and from the same race. Actually there are some really good reasons why I don't but I don't feel like dredging all that stuff out and putting him down. I really don't understand why it isn't a good enough reason for people that I'm just not in love enough to give up my independence. I want to know what to say to people without sounding rude because some of them are good friends who are otherwise well meaning.

The brother of my boyfriend's grandmother lives alone and he has 85 years and he can no longer mantains his house or his self. We had a person going there every day to clean and make him food and on weekends we would pick him up, but we realize that this is not enough. We want to put him in a type of nursing home or care center, but we really want to make sure is a good, safe and fun place for him. We leave in Puerto Rico and through the internet I havent found much in this location. Any personal experiences or places that you can recomend in Puerto Rico would be helpful.

Perhaps you have all heard of God's and Satan's big cosmic wager, in which God gave humans free will, wagering that he would win the popuarity contest; while Satan laughed and wagered that he would easily win such a contest.

When it became apparent to God that he was losing the popularity contest to Satan, God decreed that all who choose Satan will burn and rot forever in a place called Hell.

Satan just laughed and said "That doesn't change the fact I'm winning!"

Question: How great will be the population of Hell when all is said and done? (Rounded off to the nearest billion.)

Bonus question: Is this eternal torment of billions of souls, is it the greatest consequence of God's divine decision to create a world with a race of creatures in his image?

Special bonus question: Why did God even think he would win such a contest?

This is a neverending debate, constantly disputed by Christians and others of faith as to how salvation is achieved, and how to live as Christians.

Through your understanding of the text of the Bible, whether you believe in God or Christ or not, how do you feel this should be interpreted by those who embrace the Bible as God's word?

I was reading the answers to an earlier question in this section and one of the respondents declared that Albert Einstein was a christian (in support of religion).

Is this true? I find it hard to believe that such an intelligent man could believe in such rhubarb!

In light of the decision announced today that the catholic church has agreed to pay out 600 USD (325 pounds sterling) to the 500 (yes, that's 500) victims of sexual abuse by clergymen in the USA, will you now be giving more to fill up the coffers?

My last question I posted that the quoted text was in regards to death threats. No where in the question did I say the quoted text in the question was a death threat, yet 4 people responnded by saying something to the effect "I dont see a death threat there"
4/12 readers totally misread the question. Using these numbers is it safe to say that 1/3rd of the folks here on R/S either do not comprehend written material or they choose to read what they want to in the question.
I find this most disturbing....

I was talking with a KJV cultists who said that ONLY the KJV we read today is the ONLY authorized version. He insisted that G-d only blessed this translation, in fact that G-d had inspired the English KJV of today. What I didn't know at the time was that the original KJV has gone through many revisions, each correcting mistakes of the last, or introducing new mistakes, and that the Apocrypha was part of the FIRST KJV. If G-d inspired it does that mean he made a mistake?

My full length mirror just fell over and broke. (It was just a cheap mirror from Kmart or something, so I'm not even sure it's real glass or just plastic, but I'm still a little nervous).

It fell when I was trying to get a suitcase full of duffel bags for my vacation (I leave for a weekend in VA Beach on Friday), so I feel like this is a really bad sign.

According to my "Cross Your Fingers, Spit In Your Hat" book of superstitions, I should have waited 7 hrs to remove the pieces, (but I already did because it was in my doorway and I have dogs that I didn't want to step on the pieces). Does 7 hrs until they leave the PROPERTY count? Or just 7 hrs from where it fell? (Trash day is on Wednesday).

***Please don't make fun of me for being superstitious... In my experiences, I've realized I really am VERY prone to bad luck and stuff, which has kinda made me a believer... And better safe than sorry!!***

Any other superstitious people out there? What can I do to bring back some good luck??
