My full length mirror just fell over and broke. (It was just a cheap mirror from Kmart or something, so I'm not even sure it's real glass or just plastic, but I'm still a little nervous).
It fell when I was trying to get a suitcase full of duffel bags for my vacation (I leave for a weekend in VA Beach on Friday), so I feel like this is a really bad sign.
According to my "Cross Your Fingers, Spit In Your Hat" book of superstitions, I should have waited 7 hrs to remove the pieces, (but I already did because it was in my doorway and I have dogs that I didn't want to step on the pieces). Does 7 hrs until they leave the PROPERTY count? Or just 7 hrs from where it fell? (Trash day is on Wednesday).
***Please don't make fun of me for being superstitious... In my experiences, I've realized I really am VERY prone to bad luck and stuff, which has kinda made me a believer... And better safe than sorry!!***
Any other superstitious people out there? What can I do to bring back some good luck??

My superstition book also says to throw it into a swiftly moving river (where no one swims) or bury it in a graveyard at midnight when there's no stars or moon, but I really don't like graveyards, especially at night... But I think it's illegal to just go and bury something there anyway lol.
So I'm looking for other solutions...

Tom T - I tried walking around the area backwards 7 times but tripped on the strap of another duffel bag and almost fell on the 4th round! So I don't know if that worked or not, haha!!

Killroymaster - Actually that's not how it started, I'm not sure where you heard that...
When early man saw his reflection in a pond or lake, he saw what he thought was a part of himself, and when the wind rippled the water, it shattered his image, which was believed to warn of bad luck since this image was a part of him. The superstition lasted and that's how men felt later (common era) since the mirror once "held their image," so it was almost like breaking a piece of themselves.
That's why it's bad luck to break a mirror, because you are essential shattering your own image.
And PS: Throwing salt over your shoulder is only for when you spill salt. It's not for any other reason. (And spilled salt is a sign of evil spirits lurking bringing bad luck because at one time man depended on salt to keep food from spoiling. If salt was wasted, the food would go bad and he would starve during the winter. Since salt defended him from death, he reasoned it would also defend him from the evil).
