I am taking a class on self defense for women and they talked about rape and also myths of rape. One myth that cam up was most white women get raped by white men, but the truth is most rapes occur within ones own race and ethnicity/background and the ones that do occur interracially, there are more black women raped by white men than white women raped by black men. I was really surprised by this so researched it, and it is actually true. Why does it seem that the media makes it seem like more Black men rape white women?? And also I read that Black women were least likely to report a rape if they were raped by White man, why do you think this is so?

Why is it surprising?...

It's all about perpetuating the fearful image of the black male. People fear what they don't know and it is easier to hate something you don't understand. White men in general (just like any other race) can't stand to see a a woman of their same color with anything other than a white man. That seems to go double if the man is black. So in order to curb the trend, media draws on propaganda to make us believe what they want us to. The people that don't have much or any contact with different ethnicities is gullible and much more likely to be influenced by what they see on TV and read in other media platforms... this cruel barbaric beast of a black man overpowered and took advantage of the poor helpless white woman, and it could happen to you too if you don't protect yourself. As for black women and reporting rape... it is not at all unbelievable that a black woman could go to the police and say that she was raped by a white man and she would be given "the business". "You got raped... yeah right?"
In this society, black men are viewed as deviant, violent, and criminal. Black women are seen as highly promiscuous sex toys.

Black Man Rapes White Woman

A self defense class isn't meant to stop your male friend from taking advantage of you at a bar. Rape Statistics are bad in general, because the definition of rape has been distorted and is often based not on what happens, but on how people feel the next day.

This is Not the case for strangers or cases of sexual violence.

The Black:White Ratio is problematic because it is very population dependent. Blacks commit slightly less than half of all rapes, but make up a very small part of the total population.

They also make up virtually 100% of all interracial rapes. It is not as bad as nothing happening since the nineteen sixties, but it is close. A sixteen Year Gap existed between the last White on Black Rape Incident and last year. The only reason the rape occurred sixteen years ago, was a Mexican Drug Cartel had a "Revenge" Rape on the female relative of a Black Rapist.

Statistics are not a thing to be ignored or denied just because they make somebody feel uncomfortable, they must be understood and accepted or the underlying problem will never be addressed. Black on White Rape is an Increasingly Brutal Fact and it is becoming Politically Acceptable to commit such rapes and murders and blame it on White Racism.

Slave Rape is in contrast, is likely exaggerated if not entirely fictional. many claims, such as the Jefferson Claim were completely fabricated and proven false by genetics. They ran the claim in headlines, they ran the retraction quietly. People still bring up the Duke Lacross case when it was an outright Lie, the same people like to repeat vague and unfounded stories from a hundred and fifty years ago as if that is somehow more true than the lies they repeat from last weekend.

You know the reason why. Black women are perceived to be undesirable. Remembered the Duke Lacrosse case? White Americans were furious, when they heard about rape charges, involving white men and a black woman. How could anyone accuse a group of affluent young white men, raping a Black woman? Before the case started, the media brought up the Tawana Brawley case. Claiming this is another hoax and attack on white men. People have hard time believing white men are raping women. There are numerous case of rape on college campus throughout America. And the cases involves white men on white women. And white men are barely convicted of those crimes. It's sad and disgusting but it's white patriarchal society. Black women in general should bring this up more, than interracial dating.

Black Guy Rapes White Guy

I cant believe what I'm reading, I goggled white on black rape and all that came up was a case from 1965, one case. Now put this against more than thirty thousand black on white rapes every year. How can you seriously say that the reason is because black women don't report them, or they get their family to handle it. Now I'm starting to see what white Americans are forced to deal with. Even with figures like this staring you in the face, plus the convicts prosecuted for rape on another race on record and in prison, you's are still trying to say that its untrue. You's are children, no wonder you's cant look after yourselfs. The luckiest thing that ever happen to you's was being enslaved and brought to America, you's wouldn't last a day in Africa.

I dumped the Bureau of Justice statistics from 2005. I see a socio-economic aspect here that isn't being discussed. It so happens I am a black man who was raised on a poor black neighbor adjacent to a white higher income neighborhood. I did not nor would ever consider raping a white woman, black woman or any other woman ever. But I carry the stigma, none the less. I was a book toting, studious black youth with a big afro and lots of muscles. When I was in the white area, I was perceived and treated like a threat. I could see the reactions when I entered a store, came too close or God help me was alone with a white woman. You could see her visible cringe and huddle. I would sometimes strain to make myself less large and imposing, cross the street or work to maintain a couple of arms lengths distance. I was confronted by security and police so regularly, I knew several of them by name and badge number and they me. Yet they stopped be all the time.

If this is a thing, we create this to some extent. But still, though politically liberal-ish, I consider rape one of the most reprehensible crimes imaginable and believe it should be punished by death. It matters not to me the race of the perpetrator so much as they individual should be expunged from society.

By the way, it is exceedingly difficult for a black woman in our modern times to successfully report a white on black rape. The system tends to reject it, or worse, label her a "whore" who deserved it. I have even heard the sob story that she, by disclosing the rape, is "ruining a promising future" for someone "from a good family". Biologically, race is superfluous. Socially, we perpetuate this insanity as valid.

Umm, perhaps because it's the truth. In 2005 there were more than 35,000 black-on-white rapes, yet fewer than 10 white-on-black rapes. The differential is staggering. These people on here talking about media propaganda are wrong. If anything, the mainstream media tries to cover up this statistic and portrays anyone who brings it to light as a "racist."

Most rapes occur within the same ethnic and social levels as the victim because rape is typically a crime of opportunity. Opportunity occurs from knowledge of a person's habits and accessibility. Most rapes occur between people who know each other rather than someone being jumped and dragged into the bushes - which are the ones that make the nightly news - thereby fueling the myth.

Statistics on rape are misleading because they depend on self-reporting and most are unreported because of the familial or familiar relationships. Always believe half of what you hear or read - and doubt the rest.

White people love to demonize black men. That's the world we live in.

The sexuality of blacks has always been a taboo subject in American society. It stems from the slave days...white masters would rape their black slaves repeatedly and without punishment. It was thought and stereotyped that black women are somehow sexually different than white women.
The slave masters figured that one of the best ways to "keep black men in their place" was strip him of his confidence in his own manhood. The whites did this by making up stereotypes and stories about black men and their sexuality. It was rumored that black men desire white women and they will rape if given the opportunity.
I think the media just wants to perpetuate this stereotype. As someone else said, I think black women don't report a rape by a white man b/c they believe that no one will take them seriously.
It is true that most crimes committed by a race are against its own race. That's just fact. (I don't know why people seem to think that that's strange. It actually makes sense).
